The only time he could relax completely, was when he would play a squash game on the local network the school had set up. He loved playing this simple game as he can forget painful times while immersed in it.

It was fall. He was passing his time like this until one day, he had an encounter with the school's most beautiful, refined girl, "Black-Snow Princess"(Kuroyukihime), which changed his life abruptly. Introduced to the software she transmitted, Haruyuki learned about "Accel World." A program that enhances one's mind capabilities, with certain side-effects.

Bleh. Honestly, I sorta like and hate that they had to spell out who those guys were... means they were so easily ignored the first time, but now they're using them again and they still feel like some tiny speed bumps.

Remember that time Silver Crow lost his wings? Me either...

Please. Please put big comments within spoiler tags. Thank you.

I'm curious about Steins;Gate being a 'horrid' flop though. Which are you referring to? The game story? The anime adaptation? The various manga? Coz I'm pretty sure the praise for SG is more deserved than with SAO(though I still love SAO) and plenty of time travel fans find it to be one of the better stuff out there since many authors find difficulty in getting time paradoxes to make sense to the audience. Just as an example, very recently, a friend of mine, who is extremely picky about anime and avoids most stuff, considered SG to be the best thing he had seen until he saw Code Geass. Just putting that out there. I know it is your opinion but I'd like to learn more. Perhaps in PM. :)

sorry, I spoilered it up, I'm usually good about that, so my mistake.

I also realize my comment sounded harsh, so sorry abouyt that.  I really like this, but not a huge fan of some of the stuff. or SAO (more anime than LN though).

For someone that claims to be useless, she's surprisingly useful. That feels like bad writing :/.

Shame some series just flop out in the middle..  Steins;Gate was another horrid flop, imo, when it had the potential to be an amazing time travelling story.

I'm pretty sure the author said that he wanted to link them at the end of SAO. He's already introduced fluctlight and acceleration in SAO, so even though there's no telling how long he'll keep SAO up and running, he's already set it up.

That's a rather new development, previously there wasn't signs of that happening. But with the latest Vol. 19 of the LN, the author has probably reconsidered keeping them separate stories, since now there is a direct link shown to Kirito and SAO. Not unusual for long-running series to change tracks like that.

At the same time, the latest volume of the LN has also further cemented what we've said. Kirito and Asuna are not Kuroyukihime's parents. With her sister being the way she is, the theory that she could be adopted and has different parents now is not probable either.

...

The way the writing has progressed, whatever the truth is, I doubt you will ever find out. The author does not need to explain where Kirito and Asuna are now or who they're related to, since SAO and Accel World are still essentially separate stories. But I'm pretty sure you can get rid of the idea that Kuroyukihime's parents are them.

I'm not up to date to manga,

but still any news about Sa-Chan (Kuroyikihime)'s Parents or her Full Name ?

I Still betting on her being the Daughter of Kirito and Asuna ! been betting on it for 3-4 year now :P

I think her name is Sacchi Kirigaya !

The Give aways are too much !

Spoiler

The author has already said they are not related awhile ago. Given her background, it would have also implied a bad end in the relationship between Asuna and Kirito, or at least a not-so-rosy-family situation, and I think that is not on the cards.

And it is more likely that Graphite Edge, one of the missing top members of the old Nega Nebulus, is the real child of Asuna and Kirito. Kurouyukihime learned her signature moves like Vorpal Strike and Starburst Stream from Graphite Edge, and those used to be Kirito's skills in Accel World. Graphite Edge also has a black avatar with dual blades.

Even then, it could just as easily be the case that these avatars exist the way they do because Kirito could be the designer of Brain Burst. He could have left some tendencies in the system to create dual-wielding black avatars with compatible players.

Her name hasn't been revealed, but everything actually points to another character that has only appeared in the untranslated parts of the LN, Graphite Edge. He taught Kuroyuki all three incarnate attacks from SAO, Vorpal Strike, Starburst Stream, and The Eclipse. Also, Kuroyuki's family situation is way too messed up for the author to tarnish the almighty Kirito/Asuna pairing.

I just read ch 29 of curiosity and I found out that the story more forward than the anime's end. Then wich manga chapter cover the anime end?

Almost the entire 2nd part of the anime is covered in chapter 23. Which is worth reading by the way, if for no reason other than to see how the mangaka basically said screw this crap let's get to the good stuff again.

ummm... i don't get it
also timeline-wise they don't match anyway and universe-wise too. (Chapter 27.1)
Well it is a bonus chapter...

It's a bonus chapter nothing to do with the story at all. Just a side story that was in the volume we bought.

Isn't that normal? I mean, you set a goal and then you build a story around reaching said goal.

That said, this isn't exactly master-class writing. There aspects of the story that get dropped/picked up/player up/hyped up/ignored whenever the author feels like it so it never feels like a cohesive "world". It feels more like a game that changes the rules whenever the player has made too much progress.

^^^ THIS.  I understand stories having an ultimate goal that they work toward over the course of however many chapters, with various arcs along the way, but...it feels like somewhere along the way the overall theme got derailed a bit, and just when you think you have a good grip on the feel of things, bam, here's another new aspect that was "always there" but we just didn't know about; how convenient!  New developments are fine, but these just don't feel cohesive.  I feel like this racing arc should be one single bonus chapter, not part of the main story. :/

The darkness grows. Soon he will become......

You know, because him being.....

I don't really have a problem with the lack of explanations. What irks me is how the manga begins with the premise of reaching level 10 as the conclusion of the story, then everyone's all ^_^ and go about their daily lives, get blackmailed and stuff and totally forget about the focus of approaching the other Kings. Yes, it may be logical that not everything is sunshine and rainbow but ultimately how the story progresses is reliant on the author whether he opts to focus on his main premise or injects tons of arcs while introducing OP mechanics to artificially makes the Kings stronger. At least makes the arcs part of the main premise rather than space battle for the heck of it =_=.

I mean, like, do they even remember the level 10 thingy other than mentioning 'territory battle' every once in a while ಠ_ಠ?

You're forgetting that everyone's avatar is a mirror of their emotional scars. The arcs are ways to show these scars to the readers and develop the characters.

The lvl 10 thing is the characters' goal; what they have in mind. However, the book's goal has always been about overcoming past trauma, growing up, ethics and stuff like that.
