Hello ! So I just finished chapter 245 do you think it's worth to start reading RAWs chapter even tho I don't understand Japanese ? I heard the team who translate this manga is very slow and have 100+ chapter to do (don't know if this is true but if it is damn...) so i wonder if it's better to start reading raw because of that or hope translation come faster in the near future/ a new translation team start translate this ? Thanks in advance :)

I just finished catching up with the raws, and while I can read Japanese (albeit slowly), I skipped over a lot of the chapters discussing technical details of tennis and the matches that weren't all that exciting. I am waiting patiently for the chapters to be scanlated, as there is a lot of interesting information in those chapters.

To be honest, if you are just interested in seeing what matches Ei-chan takes part in and how he fares, you could skim through the raws and generally figure out what is going on. However, you would miss a lot of the story pertaining to what decisions he ends up making about going pro, his relationship with Natsu, and his interactions with his coaches and the other players. You also probably wouldn't understand what tournaments he is playing in without a translation. Personally, I don't think there's any value in looking at the raws if you can't read the Japanese.

If you don't understand Japanese, shouldn't you say "look at pictures" rather than 'read raw chapters"?

No you should say image viewing raws.. either way you are looking at pictures.

Ah thanks man. For some reason im convinced that if we show some appreciation without fussying too much, scanlators may put some work on it. Truth is i always hope in a weekly serializaztion and when i dont see any news after a week or so i choke a kitten to death, but no pressure man i understand :D

Trying to have you not choke a kitten; everyone should thank you. :^)

i hope he loses

Which one?

i hope he loses

Bet you're fun at parties.......

Indeed I am. Everyone had a good laugh about this too.

maffa's always been the nicest person when I read things on here, lolol.

Anyway...

There are many questions I wanted to ask the translators of this manga.

 1. Is this manga hard to translate?

 2. Is the raws of this manga hard to come by? (i.e expensive or not readily available)

 3. Is there a hard time trying get the group to work? (i.e lazy typesetters, cleaners. translators)

 4. Is manga low on the priority list of projects you are doing?

 5. Has another group approached you if they could do this manga? (If yes, please explain what happened)

 7. Is it a rash bad luck? (i.e computer dying, shit going down IRL)

 8. Did you notice 6 was missing?

 9. Is it an amalgamation of stuff I listed before?

11. Should I just shut the fuck about this since I contribute nothing to this and there is system in place of how this works that is readily available on your website, which I haven't checked out, that explains all of this. (#FuckTheNumber10)

1. It's not that bad; it's mostly just a lot of text from what I'm told (Maruo thinks a lot).

2. There are RAWs available online, I believe, but they're different quality than the ones we use (higher dpi, slightly larger, etc.)

3. Life commitments > online commitments is always the priority. Never changing that.

4. Yes.

5. Nope, nobody has asked. Diamond no Ace was something iMS used to do as well, and then some group got annoyed at our pace and took it over (it was around the time the 1st season of the anime came out as well). We didn't stop them, we just stopped doing the work.

7. Bad luck? Maybe; I like to call it a curve ball.

8. Yes, I noticed 6 was missing.

11. No, you have a right to public speech, far be it for me to tell you to shut up, yenno? #OnlyF10IKnowIsOnMyKeyboard

Addendum: Regarding #5. Awhile back there was dispute about the 'Shigatsu no Kimi no Uso' scans because they were slow as well and then a Horriblesubs sub-group started doing the scans, not giving a crap about "scanlating seniority" and all that. At the base level, I agree with them in that "no group should have priorities over a project just because they've been scanlating it for <insert time here>, but at least a courtesy of telling them that you're going to do it would be nice.

Having said that, even on the website I get a few comments about "just drop it so somebody else can work on it." and I laugh at the thought of "If we drop it and nobody picks it up, then what happens?" - Naturally I'm speaking for myself and not the rest of them when I say my opinions about situations like this, but I would rather have a group slowly go through it than no group at all.

As a side-note, Sutton... there's always the option of going outside and actually playing tennis (though I imagine there are other logistics that prevent that solution alone; I myself can never find a tennis partner to play a set with me in the summer heat).

Edit: Somebody pretend there's some hint of sarcasm somewhere in here, as the staff doesn't believe I posted this without sarcasm. lolol

Go Maruo! CRUSH HIM!

Of course, this is still the first set, so it definitely won't be that one sided.

i think a pc/HD died (with lots of work done inside) and someone on BS left the group, IIRC.

And as always, thanks for the chapter :)

But Sayla will win anyway!

Ups...wrong work. ^^

Right but you don't root for the bad guy in Karate kid cause, well he's a huge asshole but Kanda is just like anyone else and you sympathize easier with him than karate kid.

Spoiler

thank you for the indented spoilers :D

ill answer you when i get there!

Ah, the dear old Karate Kid conundrum... should the new guy in town that is training since last week be able to beat those that worked their asses for years on end just because reasons? But, well, it's not unreasonale. If it's within reason he can do it. And Keichirou got plenty of defeats under his belt.

FYI: Baby Steps anime season two has started since the beginning of April...

I played tennis in well aware of how tournaments work. Kanda had worked hard for years and Ei had played for what half a year now just wish he would lose once in a while, not just to the top juniors in the country, he just magiced his way to the top of the country with the same or less amount of work than most of the guys he's beating.

well, even Kanda won all his matches before getting to play with Maruo... that's how tournaments work :D
