Were some of the latest chapters removed just recently? I could have sworn we had the 12 or so latest chapters on here just yesterday.

Rickert's like: What do the five fingers say to the face?

Griffith: ???

Rickert: SLAP!

*insert bitchslap*

Rickert: I'm Rickert James, bitch.

Yay for fuckin’ Rickert! You da real MVP!

How can he slap?

Best comment I’ve seen all week.

Rickert bitch slapped a god devil!

FTFY

Get outta here with that pleb-tier philosophy. Most Christian theology doesn't rely on a theodicy (which not only necessitates that God is benevolent but that we must also understand the reasons for it) and instead either relies on "God allows evil, but for reasons mortals cannot fathom" or "God is the source of good AND evil, which means He is not omnibenevolent". I've not found a satisfying theodicy that didn't rely on some ridiculous, easily countered notion as "Man needs to suffer to be moral" or that nature is pure evil.

Either way, I was just describing the logic Miura uses for the Idea of Evil. People want to know why they suffer and die meaninglessly: The Idea of Evil makes them suffer.

Wow, you couldn’t have come across as more boorish had you tried. You haven’t found a satisfying theodicy that didn’t “rely on some ridiculous, easily countered notion”? Gee, I wonder why that is. Hrm, probably because you’ve never read one in your GOD-DAMNED DIFE*!

Seriously though, there are lots of reasonable and superbly crafted theodicies out there. For a particularly witty and well-written (but still concise) one, I recommend checking out C.S. Lewis’ “The Problem Of Pain” from 1940. The book is only some 90 pages long, freely available online and there’s also a nice audiobook version to be found. It covers pretty much every facet of the issue and even has time to go into animal suffering. Get to reading, mang!

Also, Havoc12 nailed it. Christianity’s theology is perfectly consistent if you accept its premises. Water-tight logic and all that.

But regardless of this, Miura’s explanation is still straight-up illogical and your “argument” doesn’t help this whatsoever. The question remains why their answer wasn’t what I described earlier. Why said blob instead of a deity as outlined? Both can explain their suffering and one of them is actually something they believe in rather than some “muh, their subconsciousness summoned it up” bullshit.

What’s more, this is a clear case of circular logic anyway: Why does suffering exist? Oh, because of that thing that was created after people experienced suffering. Yeah, no, that doesn’t make sense, Kentaro.

*CH reference, I’m so sorry.

Such an Amazing Chapter by Miura !

This chapter was not only great because of that slap of Rickert, what made this chapter even more impactful was the dialog. It is great how all the things from the last few chapters in Falconia connected to this chapter, we got to learn the good and the bad side of Falconia.

The break was atleast by me expected, after this chapter i exepect us going back to the boat again and finally arriving at Elfhelm ! The last few chapters in Falconia were truly great and also the Art was so fucking beautiful

ps. This Nigga Locus had me dying lol Just on chapter ago he tried to corner Rickert, he tried to show him that he has to respect the ''Falcon of Light''

40441.jpg

I really hope being defied like that doesn't make Griffith lose it again.

Oh wait, nevermind.  He's lost it a long time ago.

HA HA HAAAAA !

My musical discovery of the evening, the metal band called Battle Beast, they started four years ago in Finland.

And their "The Band Of The Hawk" song, officially based on the Berserk universe, I was jumping on my chair when I started listening more closely to the lyrics after the first anthem, and the word "Griffith" caught my ear ! ^______^

Here, have a youtube link ^_^

Or Deezer if you prefer :

Rickert my boy, you have grown so much *tears

yoooooooooo

Rickert is shown the apostles in all their gory glory right before being taken to Griffith by one of those very apostles > Rickert BITCHSLAPS Griffith in front of said bloodthirsty apostle, then walks away.

Cojones? Check.

What a pair! That boy!

MIURA, STOP PLAY IDOL MASTER AND FINISH THE GOD DAMN MANGA
NEXT TIME? MORE LIKE NEXT YEAR

Everyone knows he can't put it away.

berserk-idol-master-450x450.jpg

Slap him again.

I would have preferred a kick in the nuts, it would have been justified. Well, this will do for the moment, I just hope Guts will use more striking arguments (like a giant scrap of metal).

Griffith has no balls.

Strong chapter. Rickert faced that situation well!!

Rickert, I'm so proud.

Meanwhile, Guts has spent more time on a boat than Monkey D Luffy.

How can he slap?

MIURA, STOP PLAY IDOL MASTER AND FINISH THE GOD DAMN MANGA
NEXT TIME? MORE LIKE NEXT YEAR

He BITCHSLAPPED Griffith !

Griffith drinking tea and eating cakes then suddenly... slap-idi slap-idi slap..

Waited two months for a slap to the face...

I have to say, it was worth it.

I would have preferred a kick in the nuts, it would have been justified. Well, this will do for the moment, I just hope Guts will use more striking arguments (like a giant scrap of metal).

Rickert, I love You.

Waited two months for a slap to the face...

I have to say, it was worth it.

Please guys, no theological discussion in the comments, it never leads anywhere.

Lolno. Christianity outright recognizes the existence of evil as a separate entity in the New Testament with the Temptation of Christ.

I know asking people to read the Torah/Bible/Koran is too much to ask for, but at least know the popular stories. The Temptation of Christ isn't exactly taken from Dead Sea Scrolls.

I think you need to clarify which brand of "Christianity" you're talking about. Most Old Anglicans and Catholics, not to mention the majority of Orthodox denominations, will disagree with you and largely agree with tahtra's statement in response to Havoc's crazy doctrine, though not the direction of said statement. Please refrain from representing the one-point-two billion of us who don't agree with these innovations straying from the Basic Tenets and the original teaching. And if you ARE a Catholic, Old Anglican, or - God forbid - Orthodox, go talk to your pastor and get yourself straightened out right away before you drift further into heresy and outright blasphemy.

In traditional Christianity, the Temptation of Christ is EXACTLY an illustration of the kind of dynamics that tathra is describing. Evil comes from the Devil, who tempts man to his side, as he had done in the Garden of Eden in the beginning. Which leads us to Havoc's definition of Free Will which tathra was responding to. See, if you had spewed that nonsense in Spain of the 15th century, your charred remains would've been found dangling from a pyre within two days. I'm not sure what denomination Havoc belongs to, but his definition is a post-Lutheran innovation not accepted by traditional apostolic denominations (and yes, His Holiness Benedict XVI was right when he said none of the Protestant denominations is apostolic). Let's look at the traditional relationship of Good and Evil to man as understood by original pre-Protestant Christianity:

1. Man is INHERENTLY GOOD. Read Genesis. We are made IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. By definition, we cannot be anything but Good, for God is Good. To imagine that we can be anything but inherently Good is to imagine God as a dualistic divinity in the spirit of Ahura Mazda and the Aryan Devas, which is heresy. God is Good, therefore WE are. Period! This part is non-negotiable if you are a Christian who believe in the Basic Tenets. This also means that in the basic form, we are inherently free of the limitations of natural law. Adam and Eve knew not mortality before the Fall.

2. The difference between us and other inherently Good creations of God is that we have Free Will. This means that we can choose whether to stay Good or to Fall to Evil, just as Adam and Eve had the choice. Free Will DOES NOT mean we're undecided voters. We're solidly on the Good side of things until we choose otherwise, and we can't bloody well choose the middle ground. We're either solidly Good or solidly Evil. When Catholic priests talk about the imperfections of man, they're talking about us being imperfectly 100% Good, in that we do stray from time to time because we've got Free Will. Even the greatest of saints are 99-1 on the side of Good. However, it's inherent that we can't stray from being Good until we do. That is, no man is 50-50. We're always at least 51-49. The question is just which side is 51 (by which definition pedophile archbishops are solidly 99-1 on guess-which-side and SHOULD burn at the stake).

3. Which brings us to another tenet often left unsaid in this kind of discussion: That ALL intelligent and SENTIENT beings must be either Good or Evil inherently. Only animals are undecided voters, because they lack that sentience. Animals are subject to natural laws, but in principle we don't have to be. That we are is caused by Original Sin, the very first Bad Choice made by our Progenitors in the Fall. However, though we carry the burdens of Original Sin, we are STILL inherently Good because no.1.

4. In that sense, disease, pain, suffering, death, and all the bad things in nature ARE Evil. No question about it. The very reason we're subject to them is the Original Sin, when the Progenitors screwed up and did the boo-boo. This is why there are the Seven Deadly Sins. Those things that lead us to pain, death, suffering and all the bad things are acts of Evil in their entirety. That even saints suffer is a reflection of the Test of Truth. In their suffering God shows us that inherent Goodness in us, for a true saint will never waver from a little suffering. Bernadette Soubirous refused to take the water of Lourdes to save her body, for she knew her suffering - the wrath wrought by the Devil upon her poor body - was merely an attempt to turn her soul away from the Truth. This is why the Church accepts the Apparition of Lourdes. In contrast, the lives of the four visionaries of Garabandal show that they were not blessed with such closeness to God, therefore the Church refuses to accept their profession. In this God elects to show us our vulnerability to Evil through the small, wrong choices we make in our lives.

5. Therefore, there IS an evil Thing (not exactly god for there is no god but God - to say otherwise is heresy) that stands in opposition to God. The source of all Evil. We call that Thing Satan, the Devil, the Adversary, whatever. And yes, traditional Christians do believe that "the Devil made me do it," for there can be no other way. If we don't have the Devil tempting us towards Evil, we can never be Evil because we're inherently Good to begin with. The curse of the Original Sin is not that man now has Evil in him, but that we're now subject to the natural laws that animals are subjected to, because our Progenitors made the mistake that condemned us to this fate. If man is inherently Good, that Evil must come from outside. That outside is the Devil's realm.

In short, man is Good for God is Good and we are made in His image; Free Will is the ability to choose Evil from a position of Good, not the middle ground (which does not exist); the consequence of Original Sin is our mortality, not being placed in some sort of middle ground (which does not exist) between Good and Evil; the bad things in life are Evil by definition and we experience them by willingly Falling; there is a Devil and all Evil comes from him. To believe otherwise is to stray from true Christianity and into heresy and blasphemy.

I mean, look, you are literally ALREADY blaspheming if you can say that man has both Good and Evil inside him. That's the same as saying God has dualistic schizophrenia.

Fucking based rickert and now we wait till christmas for the next chapter, if we're lucky, it may be this summer.
