Description: Asta and Yuno were abandoned together as babies in baskets at the same church on the same day, and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Wizard King. However, as they grew up, some differences between them became plain - Yuno was a magical prodigy, while Asta could not use magic at all. In a country where magic is everything and athletic ability is nothing, Asta tried every day to provoke even the simplest magic out of himself with physical training and loud proclamations of his will.

At age 15, during the group ceremony where three-leaf-clover grimoires of different designs float down to each person, Yuno receives a spectacular book with the legendary four-leaf clover, while Asta receives nothing at all. Later, however, when Yuno was surprised and trapped by a fallen magic knight, the truth about Asta's power and determination was revealed—a dark-covered, obscurely patterned grimoire broke out of the ceremony tower and came before him! This "black clover" book of anti-magic had a five-leaf clover on the cover, even though Asta himself did not see it as it lit up briefly just that one time while he defended his friend.

Now the two friends, the four-leaf-clover genius and the no-talent with the hidden black clover, are heading out in the world, competing for the same goal...

The guest artist was Togashi.

Nah, this art is too good to be his. :D

Well it looks like Yami and Asta are going to be getting some action tonight, each from 2 different women...

A little bit of an odd proportion issue going on there with his legs.

Also what's with the line art in Ch.104

next chapter guess

yami: no choice I have to carry her.

*proceeds to hime-sama dakko

When was Fanzel introduced? I swear I don't remember meeting him, but everyone acted like they already knew him.

He and the other 2 women are from a side story light novel of this manga.

clueless/hypeman Aster is the best Aster

Damn, those legs~ Woof.

I was just wondering tha same damn thing. I think they injected them as a plot device, he's probably gonna cover it in a flash back.

Is it just me or does it look like Asta's muscles are more defined every chapter? Also if his "transformation" is anti-magic power flowing through him how could magic be able to control him?

Good question.

Just read the first chapter. This looks like an interesting series, and I'll probably keep reading it, but ngl I thought the "Yuno" in the summary referred to a girl (partially due to the current cover) and got really excited for one of the MCs to be a girl, so I'm pretty disappointed.

On the plus side, Aster is adorable (though pretty reminiscent of Touma) and a fun MC.

It looks like we're getting a school festival/tournament arc. Who could have ever seen this coming.

I'll wager on a match that will determine the fate of the Black Bulls and the Golden Something-or-Others with the fate of their squads on the line.  Meanwhile the Emperor will have a long and convoluted quest to deliver some sort of important message only to accidentally cause both of them to draw and never actually deliver it.

Those are the most shameless powerups I've ever seen, oh well, doesn't stop me from liking this manga, it's a simple upbeat shonen, that has problems but not enought to deter me from reading. Also gotta love how Asta asked some healing magic for those two siblings, actual thinking there.

Never get tired of his starry eyes

. . .

I think it is more like he hasn't tapped the full potential of the swords yet.

Just like bleach plot

Interesting, this is like the 3rd or 4th manga I've read this month that's had unfinished pages.  Some sort of holiday just happen in Japan or something?

The closest biggest hol in japs is golden week on may

And yeah many major manga hit climax this month or tis is axing season

Also Asta might not find any more anti-magic swords, but that doesn't mean he wont find other anti-magic equipment.

I forgot about the damn bird. What's his role anyway? I thought the bird just a cheap way for the author to make a mascot character.

Also does this mean Aster will only have 2 swords? I was in a mindset that he will get many swords with a different form of anti-magic.

I don't think the bird is just a cheap mascot character. The bird clearly knows what the magic stones are, and the Witch Queen, who knew quite a bit about Asta's swords and the elves, knew something about the bird that she didn't tell them.

Also Asta might not find any more anti-magic swords, but that doesn't mean he wont find other anti-magic equipment.

I like the manga conceptually but I get the weird feeling that the arcs feel rushed?  Most climaxes in the arcs finish with a deux ex machina and it cheapens the actual weight or seriousness of the arc when it finishes.

Spoiler

The art is decent and the concept of the story is great but when the factor of writing comes in it goes from a potential great manga to a "meh it's okay" manga.

it does seem a bit rushed. like the mangaka doesn't want or know how to fully flesh out his own story which in turn makes the arc ending he created seem abrupt. i agree it makes the motivation that started the conflict seem cheap and half-assed. another thing, i don't know why but mars reminds me of gaara for some reason.

Did anyone else see this-
