Goddamn Grape Juice , you really got your priorities straight!!!

Spoiler

So when will this weak piece of sh*t MC ever become strong? I'm sick and tired of this crybaby.

way sooner than you becomes a man

So when will this weak piece of sh*t MC ever become strong? I'm sick and tired of this crybaby.

This is a story about a hero in the making.
by the time MC is really strong, it would be the end of the story.

you should stop reading and wait for it to end. Then u can come back to read the last chapter.

her rejection is fine, but when i see her face crying for her son's sake... it made me cry too...

just like her son, she also have a great burden to carry every single day

Inko, still the greatest.

I really wanna see Tokoyami's and Hagakure's parent!

Ditto!

I kinda wanted to see more parents to be honest. '^'

Well we certainly know which side of the parents Bakugou gets his loud mouth from now. That said, I like his mom. She's got a good head on her shoulders. Also agree with Haremmony, less cursing just for the sake of cursing is always a plus! Kyouka's parents are an interesting pair. Good case of opposites attract.

Don't be absurd. This story situation is easily comparable to real life where the family wishes for a safe, stable, and secure office job any idiot can do vs a life which might be a bit more risky to obtain an income by following your dreams.

If you can't see that's where the author got his inspiration from, then you must be an idiot.

You are the absurd one. You compare lifethreating situation which is on par with global war to job finding problems? There is no such thing as "a bit more risky" here. It's "live steady life (mother has no idea that Deku has AfO) or go where you could easy die" situation. In other words, describing it in a way your limited brain can undersand: "Would any sensible parent send their teen kid (THEY ARE STILL KIDS!) to deadly war without any rules if they hadn't to?".
There is risk of changing your current job and risk of going to Somalia to fight pirates with bare hands. They are not the same.

Also there is difference between home visitation and parent-teacher meeting. One which i don't care to explain to you.

SO, are you trying to say that you and your school were attacked by super villains who wanted to murder your teacher and transform your acquaintance into villain/mindless tool of evil, and then your mother wouldn't let you go back to that school fearing for your life? Or are you just comparing small life problems (or as you it called "harsh world") with supernatural crisis involving people capable of destroying half of city at no price?

My mom is almost exactly like Deku's mom..It's horrible and I hate it. If I wasn't an adult I can see how such decisions would practically ruin my future. It's very frustrating that Deku has to deal with the same stuff as well. His mom is ruining her son's future just because she wishes he could be her little baby again. It's very cowardly. This is why some adults never grow up and actually graduate from being a kid. Always living with their parents. Always being sheltered from the harsh world.

I think that has more to do with the passage of time. In her very first appearances, Deku was still in kindergarten, which means that his mother was a much younger woman. Now that he's a high schooler, her lifestyle and biology have probably changed enough in the intervening years to have a visible effect on her appearance. People do keep changing, even from years 30-40, not just from 10-20. Plus I appreciate her more realistic, motherly demeanor. I've grown quite tired of the knockout moms some of these manga protagonists inexplicably have.

It's clearly just the difference in how her looks changed over ten years. The way she's drawn hasn't actually changed since as early as chapter 2.

Why is that a cool fact?

Because it's a fact, and it's cool.

It still kind of bugs me how deku's mother goes from normal looking from the first chapter of the series to marshmallow dwarf in the later half. It just seems weird how they decide to change how she looks mid story.

this user doesnt know how aging works.

BTW, I'm still wondering if the author/artist is piling on too much favor on Bakugou as a character at this point.  As much as I love the "little hellion", it's like Bakugou has more of a connection with All-Might than Midoriya does...

Wait, Bakugou has a connection with All Might?!

Seriously tho, compared to Midoriya, what does Bakugou have other than being lectured like one or two times personally and asking him a question?

Also the ragdoll scene was quite harsh specially considering they didn't even talk. The body language and all was spot on.

I think we can all agree that BNHA is one of the best executed manga ever. This manga has yet to disappoint me, and I doubt it ever will. So happy the anime's getting a second season!

Aaaaand there are people who call it generic shoenen... Great chapter!

That's not even mid story though, that's literally one chapter out of all the chapters (96 as of current count) we have received, not including flashbacks.  Heck, even including flashbacks the only one I can recall that showed her old look was the most recent one (96) and the first chapter in which she was introduced via flashback.

Really, this sort of realism of a woman changing body shape in about a decade just goes to show the thought the mangaka gives for his work.

In addition to what others have said, I think it's also important to point out that we have never seen Deku's father, it's especially glaring on this chapter as we've seen both father and mother of two other characters.

Regardless of the reason, it's quite safe to assume she raised him as a single mother (even if his father is still married to her and/or gives financial support) which just adds to the stress eater theory.

Spoiler

Slowpoke here, I just realized that on her head isn't just some sort of shiny hair reflection, but also a sound signal.

And Kaminari Denki has electric signal motive on his hair... one of Author's ship confirmed. :)

You should appreciate the nuance of realism the author used there. She was slim back when Deku is kindergarten, now Deku's a highschooler (UA is a highschool), it makes sense that along those years of stressing over her son unfortunate quirkless fate, she gains weight, stress-eating people called it.

Anyway, you're just basically mourning at the lost of such a beautiful MILF figure dont'cha? Well, i felt ya, but even with all those extra pounds Deku's mom is still a Mother I Love Fully. :)

Spoiler

This is why I love Fallen Angels.

Another plus point for Fallen Angels from me is how they use less cursing for Bakugou's Mom's speech.

I know some other translator try to give a more prominent feeling of familiarity between Bakugou and his Mom by making her curse a lot, but to me a mother that not only curse her own son but also doing so while blaming her own son's incompetence for being kidnapped and stuff is a little too much.

That... is probably the most realistic reaction I've ever read in a manga. Well done, Horikoshi-sensei.

Why is that a cool fact?

I just find it cool that Horikoshi actually recognized and referenced the band in that small aside. It's always nice to see a mangaka actively support and, looking at all his Twitter sketches, be proud of their anime.
