Gah, no chapter this week due to the Golden Week in Japan.

Honestly I keep coming back here to re-read Midoriya vs Todoroki in the tournament, can't wait for it to get animated.

Ah, when i said "quirk factor" i didn't mean the medium Eri's quirk uses to manifest, which is her blood (cells), but her "quirk organ", basically the organ(?) in Eri's body that makes her blood (cells) the medium for her quirk to manifest.

So, if Eri's "quirk organ" is in the blood itself, there will be some ground for Eri's quirk to destroy itself, but of course i believe that's not the case at all. Think of it like a snake's venom, there's no way the organ to create said venom is located on the venom itself (the venom could multiply by itself), plus logically an organ that creates said venom should be immune to the effect of said venom anyway, right?

Lastly, I am, on the opinion that Eri's ability is indeed something akin to "disease that could rot away/disabled other's quirk permanently and have bodily fluids method of contagion".

I think I get what your saying.  She uses her quirk to quirk up other quirks by sticking her quirk up inside their quirk chute.  Someone go warn Papa Quirk.

While the super specifics of her abilities weren't exactly explained in the manga yet, this is giving some hints.

Hope someone 'good' finally dies from all this high-stakes shenanigans to give this a much-needed serious tone. Wish it were Midoriya though.

If its a quirk that erases quirks by destroying what makes it a quirk, why wouldn't it just destroy what makes itself a quirk and therefor not be a quirk anymore?

If it helps to put a realistic spin on things, consider her to be an "asymptomatic carrier".  Such a person is typically infected with some type of disease and yet exhibits none of the symptoms themself, thus being healthy and unaffected by said disease while still being infected and potentially contagious.  Probably one of the most famous examples of this was "Typhoid Mary" who harbored a contagious strain of the typhoid fever bacteria in her body that she spread to more than 50 people, many of whom died from it, but never once showed any symptoms of the disease herself.

Just apply that sort of idea to quirks.  Maybe she generates an antibody or whatever that destroys the quirk source but not in her own body.

As our first realistically competent criminal, I was quite a fan of Overhaul. His design, idiosyncracies, and the influence he had on our fledgling final boss were very endearing to me.

But this is unforgivable. He needs to die.

The quirk to diassemble to destroy, and reassemble to repair..

Hmm, I dont know that Tatsuya becomes an antagonist in another manga..

What makes you so sure Eri's quirk factor are located on her blood anyway?

Also, do you know that our own antibodies are perfectly capable of actually killing ourselves? What prevented that from happening to us is very likely the same reason why Eri's quirk didn't destroy itself.

While the super specifics of her abilities weren't exactly explained in the manga yet, this is giving some hints. Obviously she can "produce" something that can attack quirks, like an antibody just like you said. Maybe is that maybe ALL of her body cells can do the same thing (which would make it easier to just extract some blood and any kind of tissue from her making the suggestion of getting teared to pieces have a more solid base), who knows yet.

I hope you realized that was a dumb question.

That was like questioning why Blackhole doesn't sucks itself and therefore Blackhole no more.

The same way hand dude doesn't just disintegrate whenever he touches any part of himself, or Bakugou doesn't get third degree burns from his explosions. This isn't really new.

Is probably like that one kid in that one X-men movie that had a similar If not identical ability to erase the gen that gave ppl their powers (I think it was called gen X or smth). Even being in the presence of the child made people lose their powers. i mean Kouhei admitted to borrow a lot of inspiration from western media such as movies and stuff so I wouldn't be surprised If it came from there.

Anyways while Eri may not get to that extent of making people useless with her presence alone, It is kinda terrifyng what could happen If they perfect the vaccine. Weird I just thought they took blood from her like a lot but the implications of tearing her apart (quite literally) are more intense.

If its a quirk that erases quirks by destroying what makes it a quirk, why wouldn't it just destroy what makes itself a quirk and therefor not be a quirk anymore?

This has been gone over before in the story:  Your own body protects itself from the effects of your quirk.  Sometimes it's too powerful and still effects it, but never to the point of permanent damage unless that's done when the quirk is manifesting.

If its a quirk that erases quirks by destroying what makes it a quirk, why wouldn't it just destroy what makes itself a quirk and therefor not be a quirk anymore?

I think it's great that the story is moving away from "kids playing hero", even if just a bit. I like that they're facing the reality where real criminals can do pretty sick stuff to reach their goals.

I'm pretty sure the story are never about "kids playing hero" from the start tho.

Great profile picture btw, i love that swag cat. :D

kinda remind me with several other manga series, which the blood of hero / MC or blood from enemy actually become their ultimate weapon if they use it to their opponent ... this usually enter action / shonen or even horror and guro type tough ...

Thats some X men shit right there

Deku can't catch a break

Cause he is part of deku's harem obviously.

Pretty much everyone in this manga (regardless of gender) is part of Deku's harem.

My.F@cking.God.

Kirishima just went and kicked ass, heavily. Every time a hero-to-be gets the spotlight, they show how awesome they can be.

Still not as manly as Ochako when she fought Bakugou, but you'll get there, Red Riot.

Lol, i just realized that this arc could be a perfect opportunity for Deku to steal Kirishima from Bakugou. :P

No offence to BakuShima shipper intended.

glad to see Kirishima get some time in the limelight! Things are gettin' serious! Aaagh. Can't wait to see what happens!

Great chapter and a great debut for Red Riot!

Also, is it just me or does Kirishima really look like a girl in the last page's last panel? (his face I mean)
