Description: Ryota Sakamoto is one of the top-ranked players of BTOOOM!, an online battle game. But no amount of simulated warfare could have prepared him for what is to come… Ryota wakes one evening to find himself dangling from a tree by a parachute with no recollection of how he got there. Before he can orient himself to his unfamiliar surroundings, Ryota is attacked. As a barrage of explosives rain down on him, Ryota realizes that he too has a pack of bombs…bombs that look very similar to the ones used in BTOOOM! Ryota may have mastered the online game, but can he come out on top in this real-life game of survival?!

They should destroy all his tape right before his eyes and then kill him, eh? 8D

That might hurt the kid a bit, but I would say it would disgust them more just thinking about what those tapes contain :x

the games over! cam boy time to go to hell!!!

I still don't understand why Torio went through all the trouble to make Amakusa look like the killer by having the latter's corpse substitute for his own.

If anything, he'd become instantly suspicious the moment he shows himself. There would also be absolutely no point in all the sneak attacks, since Amakusa is officially in hiding. The remaining survivors could've just as well prepared against an attack from Amakusa and retaliate, just to realise the real killer is actually Torio.

Basically it all boils down to this:

"The killer is hidden somewhere and plans to kill us sneakily."

So who cares if the killer is Amakusa or not?

It would've been much smarter to just blame someone who's still alive, so they'd at least kill each other. Or even better: Don't blame Amakusa or anyone else. Have them all suspect each other, so they won't team up in the first place.

Didn't Torio and Sakamoto explained it in the chapter? Amakusa is obsessed with protecting the girl. So if Amakusa is the roaming killer, then staying close to the girl will be safe, as it is nearly impossible to use explosives to kill people close to her without hurting her. And thus everyone will gather around the girl, like they did. It is all setup for the last multikill AoE. The sick dude is obsessed with recording people's horrible deaths.

And then he wants to recover the bims. Having people killing each other will waste bims.

Except no one expects the girl to have the barrier pyramid so staying near her keep you safe regardless, as long as you know when a bim is coming, I suppose :/

Sorry, I skipped right to the point in my previous post.

When you are up against a known "professional" versus amateurs, it'd be wise to focus more on the former,no?

That's true, and that's what confuses me: Why did he focus on the non-professional (and especially to-be-dead-soon) Amakusa?

The smartest and most logical move to make would've been to make Sakamoto the suspect and have everybody else try and kill Sakamoto. After everybody else is dead, kill Sakamoto while he still thinks you're his only ally, take the chips and profit.

Of course, Torio would've died trying to betray Sakamoto (hello plot armor), but that's a different story.

I still don't understand why Torio went through all the trouble to make Amakusa look like the killer by having the latter's corpse substitute for his own.

Hmm...when Sakamoto first arrived on this other half of the island, he did relate his whole ordeal up to this point. So this mean Torio is aware he is the top players of the virtual game itself. Even if he is 18 year-old, Torio is still basically regarded as a kid in Japanese society, I'm sure he took advantage of this for his own benefit.

He deserved it.

That's ... so sad. All the Bim man ... All the BIM. And yes they are worth more ... LOL.

Spoiler

He deserved it.

What the hell man, NTR? Seriously, you're going to say that with a smile?!

Reading too much of it makes you weird when reading vanilla stories.

Kill first Talk later

But wouldn't it be really awkward if he talked to his exploded corpse?
You only do that with the corpses of loved ones and he definitely is anything BUT love-worthy...

figure out for a fucking smartphone

Thanks for the new chapter.

Jokes aside, it's fiction, man. Drama and tragedy in fiction are tools to increasing the interest of a story. No need to be so shocked of him talking about the it with a smile. There is already far worse in this manga already

Kill first Talk later

case closed next chapter, after that go find Himiko already !!!

Why? She has hooked up with the other guy by now for certain! :D

Hmm, I think it is more realistic to have the 'supernatural part' here because we do encounter people IRL who claim to have supernatural powers. Most of us think they're charlatans, which is probably why people think that this is a sudden intrusion in the story's supposed genre(s). Is there actually something that proves that there was something supernatural going on? IMO, it's not an addition of a new genre. It's more like one of the 'bad people' voted to be part of the game claims to have supernatural powers. That's it... I think.

she sees his former teammate's ghost, I think his name was taira?

Does readers here actually check out the genres before reading then posting comments after reading, as far as I know, the majorities did not do so. We knew right off the bat this is a Science-Fiction but if suddenly there is chapters involving school lifes, does that mean we should assume the story is veering off course and require "School Life" tag?

Plus all those sub-genres isn't official, its just weird to see them added one after another as the stories unfold, I mean "Ecchi" and "Romance" was there by default but scenes depicting these two genres isn't a plenty but nobody minded as the plot weren't affected. There is no telling that the author is going to tap on the Supernatural material to advance the story, so what's the fuss here.

Have anyone ever wonder why good Manga stories are dwindling? well, the mindset of fans has changed a lot from the early 90's. I'll use Neon Genesis Evangelion as example, this title has plenty of crazy ideas throw in that weren't supported by any facts, in another word, illogical. But people easily overlooked this and still enjoyed it. A pity Manga authors no longer have this privilege after the industry became known globally, especially when the theme is western oriented. Netizens is fast to nitpick on any inaccurate details or facts, they want everything to be "realistic" ignoring the genres in general.

The authors themselves is aware of this expectation, and you'd think they aren't experiencing any stress while trying their best to do research and collect information? If this Manga is no longer your cup of tea for whatever reasons, you can just stop reading it or learn to appreciate Mangaka's works.
