Description: Aramiya Seiichi is an ordinary high school… eroge otaku who’s given up all hope on girls in the 3D world due to a certain incident. One day, after he’s bought a bunch of new material in consequence of experiencing the frustration of a perfect eroge character turning out to be “used goods,” he encounters a delinquent-like-looking girl being about to get raped by a bunch of guys. By mere chance, he rescues her. Days later, when school starts again, it turns out to have been his classmate, Ayame, a feared delinquent girl who’s got all kind of rumors about her – especially that she’s “used goods.” And it appears that she’s set on becoming his ideal girl to make him fall for her.

So the main character is pretty much a top tier scumbag. He's like Keima Katsuragi but taken way too far.

am I the only one shocked by the number of "used good" thrown into this ? I found this extremely disrespectful for women. (and I'm a man)

I don't think anyone here supports the MC's current mind-set about the girl or women in general. The MC is biased and not very likable at all right now, but the story itself hasn't been hurt by it so far, in fact his dumbass ideals are what the central conflict is about so far.

I actually feel kinda scummy for liking romcoms with a similar premise (but obviously not as blatant) after reading this.

Looks like it's going to be lots of laughs. I can't wait to read more.

Omg ReDrop illustrates the LN? Gotta get that money.

Of course it's often used, because we're experiencing the story through the eyes of the heavily biased MC.

I'm amazed at the number of people not picking up on this. Look folks, give this 4-5 chapters or so. I'm giving it 10 chapters. If it shows obvious signs of the MC's attitude being proven to be the horseshit that it is, I'll keep reading it. If it tries to make us sympathetic towards him, I'm dropping it and one starring. Simple stuff.

It's the obvious sign of an someone who has a poor grasp on fiction when they automatically conflate the author's views with the main character's. Whether the author actually believes what the MC does still remains to be seen.

Why tf did you ruin her aesthetic?! :'(

I think it's too early to make a judgement: I usually hate this kind of "shonen romance" mangas, but there is something that attract me in this story. So 4-5 more chapters for understanding if we have the usual romcom story are enough in my opinion.

MC's ideals are weak af and I can arleady see them being forgotten, unless author needs an excuse to cockblock

More like the backside of pluto but, that is a different story. I understand discussing about fictional stories or the characters but, some people get straight up upset about it. Which I think is a little overreacting.

There are cases where people just overreact but it's normal to get invested in stories and to get mad or being disappointed from the getgo when the author isn't trying enough. The trick is to stay rational while commenting.

Just imagine how much shit storm the mc would have after reading Good Ending

"i can almost hear her hymen talking".....wtf.

Spoiler

At first my reaction is like yours. Thankfully, the informative footnote helped me understand the meme.

*sigh* another one...

Self-Insert "Good Looking!" Otaku?  Check.  "Dramatic and Tragic Pasts?"  Check.  Excessive focus on fan-service?  Check.

I swear there's been more and more of this shit every year. Which means there's been more and more demand for it every year. Which means there's more and more male losers in Japan every year.

Makes you wonder, what will happen to Japan when this decline hits critical mass?

Guess you lived on the backside of the moon till now.

Discussing about fictional stories is quite a common thing. People even did it before the internet existed.

Exchanging ideas and opinions through fiction is quite interesting.

I don't know what is more entertaining this manga or the comment section lol. I recommend when reading any manga that you read it knowing it is based on fiction and is not really happening. If you really want to comment on how idiotic people can be just watch cnn atleast they are real.

yeah go jump in 5v1 and get embarrassed and make the situation worse, the police exists for a reason

or what, every MC in every manga should be a black belt in karate?

Nobody said that, the issue is that he was going to leave without calling the police and only called them because the rapists noticed him...  Not sure why you're so aggressive in defending this

I'm here to see how much a trainwreck it can be.

At least its not another isekai lol.

The premise of this was actually really interesting.

I thought it would be something like: A guy rescues a girl from sexual assault, she gets attracted to him (possible I guess, but I would've liked a different reason better), she's not a virgin and 3D so Mr. Otaku says no to her confession, she tries to be a stereotypical tsundere to appeal to him but constantly breaks character, he slowly warms up to her real self and reconsiders his views on purity and virginity (and no, just because she's not a virgin doesn't mean her ex-boyfriend has to appear to be a love-rival or some BS like that) and they live happily ever after.

But nope.

I mean it's only the first chapter, but yeah. There's a story to be had, the protagonist is an asshole(like, straight up), who's obsession with fantasy is so consuming that he won't even let the genre he likes breathe and almost lets someone be goddamn raped because he thinks she's unworthy of being saved. The character arc would be him coming to understand how evil his view of the world has become.

It could be that still, but I'm not reading a goddamn light novel to find out.

Because that's what they usually are. And it's hard to say who's more nuts. On one hand, dying your hair back to it's natural colour, changing your whole image and demeanor and trying to put on a little show for a new crush is a bit crazy but then again he saved her from being raped. On the other hand a loser refusing an out of his league top tier beauty that most are scared of talking to just because of your addiction to games and a rumour that she's not a virgin is beyond idiotic, and actually telling her his autistic reasoning is even more stupid. But then hearing that idiocy and realizing what a creep she's dealing with she decides to become better than his delusions which takes the cake... I'm just not sure if being saved by him from rape justifies it.

I'm sure no ones turn into a neet or a creep without a good reason, its hinted on his past though...

Sadly, this is an actual thing in otaku culture. This is yet another reason why otaku are treated like creeps in Japan.

But nope.

Main character has such a heavy bias about "non-virgins" that he thinks a scantily clad girl probably wants to get gangbanged in a dark alley while screaming no and fighting back. He just wants to leave her until he gets himself accidentally involved (yes, I know the description explains, that he rescued her by chance but I didn't think it would be something like that).

After that, I think to myself: Okay, there's a itsy-bitsy tiny possibility it's something similiar to the plot of Lassboss x Hero and the MC is an antihero, the female misunderstands him and falls in love because of that and the whole manga is a dark comedy.

Of course that's not the case. The author obviously wants us to sympathize with the MC.

I didn't read the original novel but through the comments here and the fact that we know that rumors in manga are false 97% of the time, there's a high chance that our female lead isn't even "used goods" which would destroy the whole message this manga could have had.

I'll have to see how the supposed harem-theme will affect this as well. I normally give harem-manga a bit of leeway regarding realism, but there's a limit to that and I can't see how it will work in this manga without feeling awkward.

Long story short. Heroine came from a broken family, acted out in school, got a bad reputation, treated as an outcast, and was unintentionally saved by a guy.Thinks there's someone who gives a damn about her, and devotes herself to her saviour.

Also read Chapter 4 of the LN Vol. 1 , it makes the whole thing worth it.

dude, you know there is spoiler tags for a reason?? ffs ¬¬
