I think hes a pacifist at heart, but he feels that he still owes his master the payback he promised. Ideally he'd want to take out his masters betrayers, and only them. No other innocent or fodder fatalities. Then go back to eating dumplings.

During the battle with the spear guy he showed what looked to be excitement at the prospect of meeting several more Gosu like the iron lion though. I would hope it's just his promise with Yerin that keeps him restrained...Unless he has a really compelling backstory like Yongbi does, that makes sense of why he doesn't want to kill anyone. Plus it's an annoying way to nerf your main character, if it keeps on.

Yes the whole dumpling stuff is amusing for a little while, but it's the same as Yongbis dirty jokes and his greed for money. Sooner or later I would prefer that to fade into the background and the story to start taking itself seriously, much like Yongbi did.

Lol, i was expecting powerup but glad the gosu looked surprised aswell. Good chapter but.... This author is killing me with cliffhangers.  _|¯¯|O

Plus the old guy implies (and by imply, I mean damn well near says) that MC is holding back to keep the old guy from killing the other old people. It's pretty damn clear that if MC went full out, the fight wouldn't be so even. Maybe...

That is true.

No, he also move him back while himself stay in the same spot.

Coz he broke that Flame Wall technique he proved he is stronger? Thats some train logic you got there bro...

I don't mind the flashbacks, it's nice to get snippets of the old war through flashbacks and leaves me with hope that there might be more survivors out there or at least disciples of survivors(Asura sect or other Supreme masters) It was a nice reset button to launch a new series from, while still keeping ties with Yongbi and so on.

What I'm unsure about is what direction they're taking Gang Ryongs character in the future. Sometimes they make it seem like he enjoys fighting and has a desire to rebuild his masters sect, but most of the time he's a largely laid-back and almost pacifistic guy.

Not going to happen. He already prove that he is stronger than him. The old guy is piss that he is not taking this fight too seriously.

I actually hope Ryong struggles to keep up with the old man and ultimately loses this fight...I just really want our overly confident MC to realize how cocky he is - thinking he can do anything he wants by himself, then somehow the old men there save him from death's door.

Those old men's realization that he's the Heavenly Destroyer's disciple... Yeah, 100% chance they'll be sacrificing themselves at some point during this fight.

I want it to have a twist where he just wants to teach gangryong compassion.
And that the oldman he is fighting already left himself in the past.

I thought they already knew who he was lmao.

Did it reach Dragon Ball level? Because my eyes cannot keep track of their movements.
Spoiler

^ I thought of kamehameha

R.I.P MC.

For the umpteenth time.

That gimmick is starting to be overused.

But still gives a measure of suspense, so I'll let it slide... :D

@sesarm000 i'll have to reread from the point where ryong started the journey. I might have lost the trail :D

.....so did anyone read the latest chapter yet? Coz I'm waiting for peeps to start discussing

At first I didn't recognize the chubster in the panel where he got mad for realz. I was confused. Who was this new character? What had he done with our beloved Ryong? Then I saw the gloriously round, chubby, chin at the bottom. Recognition struck me like a bolt of lightning from the heavens as I realised our pleasantly plump protagonist was still there under that mask of rage and determination. I can only pray he returns to us soon.

This old man clearly is not one of the Heavenly Destoryer's subordinate that MC is after. If that's what you mean.

He might be talking about the guy that Sa Paechon has chained up.

Anyway I would find it incredibly weird from the authors if they would hint that martial artists from the old murim had a chance against the heavenly destroyer, only to backtrack a few chapters later with ''oh but really they didn't'' and have Gang stomp him>_>

lol.. now that would be a frustrating way of handling this fight for me, not that I think they will.

You know that the old man doesn't stand much chance, he's just the first on the list...

Now is when the beatdown starts.

And considering Ryong only knows him after he was betrayed and left for dead, we may neveer know the depth of his master's power. Unless flashback happens.

His build looks incredibly small compared to his silhouette in his prime, so I'm guessing his body was pretty fucked after that and he couldn't make a full recovery.

This shadow eminence took out one of those prelates(corrosive/decaying Ki and regeneration) and two of the supreme masters from the Yongbi days, so I wouldn't be surprised if he might be better in some aspects of martial arts than the heavenly destroyer. His record is already very impressive.

Gosu mad. Gosu DESTROYS!!!
