Why are the chapters so short? I can understand if the author simply does not want to write it anymore, but which publisher agrees to release a chapter consisting of only 2 pages (discounting the chapter introduction) ?

The latest chapter is 9 pages, that's an improvement? lmao

Edit: I shouldn't have said anything.

Now... 2 pages... 4 counting the "cover" page and the group/contributor page.

I'm more concerned that recent chapters have less than 5....  Notably, this chapter had FOUR pages...

So essentially, we have to wait a MONTH and hope they cranked out more than one page a week for us.

Nothing explicit goes on, but there's enough bromance and pretty boys for those who want to fill in the blanks to do so, while those who don't need not do so. There's sugar next to the coffee, but no one's spooning it in for you. Frankly, I would be more concerned that the mangaka usually churns out an abysmal 5-10 pages per chapter as of late.

It's not yaoi or shounen ai. The main (male) characters care about each other, it's your choice whether you see it as them being lovers or friends. You can always read romantic subtext into situations, but nobody's kissing or whatever.

Is this series Yaoi or Shounen Ai?

No offence intended to anybody who enjoys that Genre im just not into it and i'd like to know before hand,

Thanks

I know this manga is practically legendary for its chapter "length", but... 3 pages. That's not missing a "0." That's how long Chapter 23 was, excluding group credits and the intro pic. And it's basically a recap / flashback.

Am I being played here? These guys are fine specimens, but there's no universe where this is reasonable. This magazine better be daily, or twice-daily, or hourly.

Actually the original manga is monthly. It's the same magazine that publishes Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler for instance: Gファンタジー (G-Fantasy). Takarai Rihito is probably fully engaged with Tencount which has had various special releases as keychains, stationary, drama CD etc as well as her art book, scroll print etc. As those projects are normally supervised by the artist, a lot of time goes by until they can catch up on other stuff. グライネリエ is only a "fun project" for Takarai in my opinion.

Yay, an update!
Oh no, they jumped chapters!
Yay, I'm gonna have several chapters at once to read sometime in the future!

(though with the slow development of this series, maybe I'd be surprised and understand everything if I were to read it now)

i read it becuz of that hot guy . dayum boy

I CANT BREATH:

Hurray, a new release and longer chapters. Thank you people for scanlating this!

Also, does anyone else find the resistance group to be kind of hypocritical? They say that one needs to be enlightened to join them, but at the same time condemn the Granliers strive for knowledge (aka research). Research they themselves then use to fight against the Granliers. I guess the whole situation is similar to how a lot of the more unethical studies made during the 20th century were received by the governments of the world. They condemned the methods, but tried to get hold of the results fervently. Not as evil as it may seem, as the results were sometimes revolutionizing.

A short summary of one example of unethical experiments is listed below in Spoilers.

Dear god an update, thanks a ton!

I must have a fascination with plants because this fantasy setting really does it for me.

On its own, it's not particularly interesting, but that just doesn't matter to me.

The pacing is kinda slow 'cause the chapters are so short, but that also doesn't seem to matter as I can enjoy it at this relaxing pace.

Really appreciative of these updates, whenever they may be.

I think I'm going to wish for longer chapters this New Year's

No, but wait. Lucas needed water... They got a lot of men to do heavy labor. The drinking water was all laced, but holders can absorb water through the flesh too... so does that mean that none of the men were given any bathing water? Lots of men + Heavy labor + no baths for days... and they wonder why people are off their food...

certainly do not enjoy this 6/9-page per chapter thing... blegh

otherwise really liking this series so far. thanks, scanlators!

All there now. Thank you very much for your hard work!

..skipped a few chapters..?

Thanks a lot for the update!~

thanks for the translation

Thank you so much for the translations!
