Well it is a harem story after all.

I wish this story (the LN) would be translated faster. I actually quite like this story.

I would love that but the sheer length of the chapters and the repetiveness of information would drive the translator crazy. I remember one chapter about the Ruckner brothers that was basically a single paragraph being repeated over and over. Gave me a head just reading it nevermind translating it.

Welcome to the Isekai genre.

he is not really living the hero life.

He, first and foremost, thinks of himself as an adventurer but politics keep blocking his path since he is from a noble family and his master is quite famous.

Rather than because of being from a noble family, it is because he is a powerful mage.
Any kings with a proper head will want to keep him around and try not to give him any reason to migrate to other countries.
Whether he likes it or not, commoners will look at him as a hero because he is after all given the title of Dragon Slayer and a Medal that have a great amount of Honor to whoever gets it.
Poor nobles will look at him as potential target to leech on due to the amount of wealth he accumulates and will keep increasing since he is after all a powerful mage which can earn money easily.

Is like you won god tier loot drop when you already have god tier loot drop

"What the frick!? I just came for my brother's wedding!!!"

He's already fucking rich enough to never need to lift a finger for the rest of his life. It'd be a nice change of pace if he said "fuck it" to this hero crap and settled down into a nice quaint little life of hedonism and procreation.

Good question. I also hate it when that happens.

I know right

Wait....Wendelin? I thought it was Bendelin? Did I miss a translation note somewhere?

The setting is heavily medieval European based, so I think the translator found real names that best matched the Katakana (I'm assuming they're in katakana).  Remember, a lot of katakana tends to be interchangeable with western syllables, like B vs V, L vs R.  Probably same case here.  But yeah, I don't think there was a note.

The golem are cute ones.

Obviously the Friend becomes a part of the harem... maybe he gets gender swaped and develops the feels. =P

if we are talking swordsmanship his bestfriend has him beat, if we are talking hand to hand combat the little one(short hair) can beat him black and blue.

Spearmanship and leadership, ponytail can do better than him.

He has magic and modern(from their point of view) ideas.

They each have areas they excel and I think they work well together.

The MC is only OP in terms of magic.

Trained magic instead of play, youngest child so he doesn't have much responsibilities and don't forget the OP teacher who showed him the trick to expand his mana since young.

well the story is fast paced in the manga so they left out a few things.

He did a lot of internal monologue in the novel.

each chapter has around 2k words plus(around the time he met magic teacher)

agree that they have their own expertise but even if the other 3 cooperated, they still won't be able to beat an ancient dragon. the level of their expertise and the disparity between their abilities can't even be compared. it's like comparing an nba player to a pole vaulter. sure a pole vaulter may have some nba players beat based on jumping power but that doesn't mean their on their level on that skills that matter in each of their own field of expertise. vice versa.

It would probably be him that would devalue salt. In a pre-industrial/pre-tech setting, producing salt from seawater would be heavily dependent on climatic conditions- which means that somewhere with a hotter climate is going to have somewhat of a monopoly on it. Add in transit cost, and delay from evaporation time, and you have very expensive salt that someone is already printing money with.

To produce salt from seawater elsewhere, such as in a temperate or colder environment, would require significant monetary investment in fuel cost to induce evaporation of water in an amount to meet import demand. If you limit the amount of salt you're introducing into the market, you might see a dip, but it wouldn't be very drastic. Dump a large amount of salt into the market, and you'll probably see a large drop in price, but you'll probably see an equal or even more dramatic rise if you stop dumping excess salt on the market. Remember that, unlike a post-industrial/tech society, salt is going to be one of your main preservation methods of food, and it works great for masking the racid flavor of semi-spoiled food (you just cut off the bad portion and try to consume the rest).

Plus supply can be artificially managed to keep prices up. Aside from foreign producers having their own monopoly, it's entirely possible for local merchants to have a monopoly on distribution - probably in concert with the producers. Especially since salt stores well, it's fairly easy to stockpile the excess from a high-production year to help cover shortfalls during low-production years, creating a more even market over the long term. See also: diamonds in the real world, whose sale has historically been carefully managed to keep prices high.

Unless Bell wants to spend time peddling salt personally (and likely angering the local distributors who probably have special support from the authorities to help maintain their monopoly), he should probably sell to one of the local monopolies and let them handle distribution. The merchant he just met on the ship is a good candidate for that - Bell might undercut any foreign producer, but the merchant could still sell it off over time at the standard market rate and just pocket the profit. Guilds were known for jealously protecting their markets, too.

but....it was a fire dragon, i wasn't aware they used arrows

Maybe the dragon used a fire arrow spell or something

Fire arrows?

Welp, someone suggested this already... Ascherit nonetheless.

Merchant dude took an arrow to the knee it seems.

And by the looks of him right now, someone needs to steal his supply of sweet-rolls.
