What the hell is happening this manga is multi-lane drifting like mad.

I dunno wit r u talking abt, im liking this shit. More interesting than other shounens with bland mc powering up with just a feeling of"friendship" and shits.
I can't imagine any of these boys NOT being a completely apt suitor for Marie /s. A master duelist is there! A master duelist!

90% of the comments are just people complaining about how the manga is too much like Beelzebub, or too little like Beelzebub. It's valid criticism, but I think it's enough to make a forum board about it and criticize there. Comments are becoming more filled with replies than actual comments...

I'll put my actual two cents in here though, since I guess everyone else is doing it-- this is not suited for Shounen Jump. SJ has a specific sense that is catered toward a specific demographic, and while other audiences will enjoy reading it because SJ does have some of the "best" manga, it can't deviate from the usual Shounen route. I'd say this manga and Samon the Summoner would have faired much better in a... magazine? Publisher? Like Gangan Online. Something where they can say they are Shounen, but are overall much looser about enforcing a specific formula and where there is a broader range of audiences.

So what does Jump series being axed have to do with "shit" series from several other magazines?

Oh great, people now don't even know their shit. Let me enlighten you. Original To Love-Ru ran for 3 years in WSJ then it became borderline hentai.

Still, Harapeko no Marie is not a good manga. It's medicore at best, and is too similar to Beelzebub so it's going down.

Bakuga, Bear Killer school, expert in martial arts. Specialty? Yogurt tasting <3.
Ragawa, Domination school, a one man yankee. Also the jump rope champion.
Haine, Dusk school, womanizer. nicknamed "The Wizard".

Those are some cute hobbies. And one is called a wizard while wooing girls... Galge much?

TLR D is bad, the only thing it had was the massive fanservice that got even riskier each time in the monthly magazine.

Calling fanservice porn bad because it has massive fanservice isn't gonna do anything, you know? Try something else.

Sigh, good mangas get axed and many shit mangas run for years. Shit mangas like Tolove Ru, Masamune Revenge and Amano Megumi wa Suki. It is ridiculous.

You simply say only manga that has Ecchi survives and Plot dies?

How the fuck are TLR and Amano Megumi bad? Former is pure fanservice and latter is vanilla romance.

Also 2 of them aren't even from same publisher.

Are you done remembering Belzebuub? Cause I am pretty sure we are reading Hara Marie here.

While there might be similarities, mangakas have hard time going away from their style. And yet when I read Gin no Saji or Arslan, I did not have that FMA expression. The same way here. Different manga with similar style to older work, but different nonetheless.

it's the super similar characters with his previous work, in FMA to Gin no Saji there is a big gap in story and the characters are really different (GnS is great, but there isn't a col. Mustang for example)

For me the inclusion of delinquent fights doesn't feel like similarity in style so much as a deliberate attempt to copy Beelzebub. They made sense in the earlier work but here they're just randomly thrown in.

Unfortunately it will be axed in few weeks. This week Samon ended and soon two new series will start. Next to axe are Under19 (chapters) and Poro

Good point, and lets not forget Beelzebub was cancelled. If they do the same thing it will just get cancelled again.

Beelzebub wasn't cancelled. The author was having some sort of trouble and ended it himself. I mean his new series might be getting axed I haven't been paying attention to the votes, but Beelzebub didn't end because it was unpopular. Hell it even had a side story run for a time in the Jump's monthly thing.

You have any proof for this?

i found this manga today and i have to say that i'm rather unsatisfied with the manga as a whole.

the characters are weak and the chemistry between them is almost non existant.

the good gags are few and far between (subjective, i know) and the romcom aspect is half assed at best.

i really hope this gets better as time goes on. i really do.

It seems that logic isn't your strong point.

Oh yay a new chapter~

I think most of the hate on this series is because everyone is comparing it to Beelzebub, which is understandable because of some character designs and the style of humor. Still, it's important to remember to also judge it independently from Tamura's previous work. I'd actually be disappointed if it were exactly like Beelzebub. It is going to be difficult to beat it, and the premise definitely isn't as eye catching as Beelzebub's, but Tamura has learned quite a bit since his debut, and I'm excited to see what else he has in store

If a girl can suplex me like that I'd fall for her aswell tbh.

Chapter 10 died while I was in the middle of reading. :[

Hmm.. feels like the author is just experimenting here. I can't find any definitive genre of it yet since it kind of just half-assedly explore each of its related genre. Maybe the author is just testing the water to see which one has better reception to the readers before fully commit to it?

I fell out of my chair with the "U-don".

Otherwise... like many other readers, I'm just not "feeling it" from this story.  Still feel Beelzebub was a far more interesting premise.  Oga's a better lead than Taiga.  And Hilda wasn't as one-dimensional as Therese (especially when we got moe-Hilda).

Now I just want a Beelzebub sequel with Beel's baby sister.

Im losing my interest in this :/

I don't know if it's cause of the long time not reading this but I'm with you .. and well, can understand why is so low in the ranks in WSJ.
