This is gunna be like Nisekoi because the author is going to drag it out for 200+ chapters when it's obvious what the end will be.

I kinda don't get their "impure" argument. If it were as Fujiwara say he wouldn't have been pres at all! But obviously he is, so ...

I believe he was president despite great opposition and stayed there because he is an absolute madman in regards to work. Which should be something that makes it esay but grudges run deep etc

I think the author will address to those too very soon

it's another manga

I don't know why, but I really want someone to translate that series.
Tis funny to think that people are actually arguing about some ink drawings on a paper

That was cute as hell.

So how does Kaguya give a speech saying how great he is without it turning into a confession?

Both Kashiwagi and her boyfriend are flat

Jesus, Kashiwagi isn't the curviest slut around, but you've gotta admit she's got just a bit more going on than that!

Double K.O. Well played Kaguya.

My heart. Just how isn't this Shirogane's loss?! JUST MARRY ALREADY!!

btw Hayasaka, you sly bastard you're enjoying this

Edit: actually, it wasn't neccessary to say that.

Just in case if you passed over this,

Here's a chibi Kaguya.

Actually, I'd be willing to bet you on this. Akasaka Aka is fantastic at writing interesting characters with conflicts and motivations. If there is a "villain", they would surely become more than just the generic snooty rich kid.

Hell, anyone who read this expected a cliche romance with shallow development. It evolved into something else entirely four chapters in.

You'd think that, but this isn't likely to be a major character.  Both Kashiwagi and her boyfriend are flat, and the principle is a two-note gag character.  I don't expect non-council members to be developed much, especially if the 3rd-year council members never even got to appear.

I sorta wanted him to confess but I sure as hell don't want the battle of dimwits to be over just yet. This shit is way too funny.

Hmmmmm... I wonder if that was technically a confession by the girl?

Yeah, but read what you wrote there. It's clearly says that you can't develop characters in harem, and not that it's what happened in Nisekoi. It's giving a false impression. Well, you clarified it now, so it's all good, I suppose.

Better share at least one title. We are all readers here. No harm introducing a title.

Hmm... You've got a point.

Very well, I'll recomend my favorite, Ai Kora(You can also find it as Love Collage).

Argumentum ad populum, much? Just because most are bad it doesn't mean all are bad. You yourself gave a counterexample!

I don't think you know what that actually means.

Of course I gave a counter example. I said literally exactly what you are saying, that most are bad but not all. 99% is not all. Even the dude I quoted was like "I can give like a couple examples" but he immediately contradicts what he said before when he says people exaggerate. We're not exaggerating, most harem is trash and there are some here and there that aren't that most of us know about. That completely fits with...what both of you are saying for the most part. If most are trash and there are some that are not, how are people exaggerating?

Fuck this shit it's like Nisekoi all over again please no.

Such an appropriate username.

The existence of Jitsu wa Watashi wa doesn't entirely negate the existence of the 99% of harem that aren't on that level.

You know I would clap loud here if not for one line in your whole comment: "The lack of a harem gave the author time to develop them"

Sorry pal, but that's wrong.

There are very few decent titles nowadays, but there are some harem series that properly develop characters, I could give at least three examples here, but i'll refrain from doing so. Because your comment is clearly biased by the knowledge of famous ones like Nisekoi and To love Ru(which would have been perfect if it had ended in the first series, and the author had moved on).

People exagerate when it comes to harem, there are indeed some series that are worthwhile. But just like the Isekai genre for LN, proper harem titles get ignored, because people only read the famous copy and paste, and not the decent but somewhat obscure. Reason being, "i've read so many copy and pastes that i already have reached my veredict."

To be fair, I was attacking Nisekoi, not harem genre in general. My point was, that the lack of more people in the spotlight doesn't force the author to include them in the story, as opposite as harem media, which by definition forces them to focus on each member of the harem at least once every so issues.

Harem can be done right, but in manga at least it's incredibly hard to pull off due to time constraints. On one hand we have shows who pretty much have given up from the beginning, like To love ru, which keeps the fanbase afloat with pantyshots and an ever growing cast of boring but hot girls, or Nisekoi, which makes no effort in disguising who's going to end up with the MC, thus making chapters featuring the future losers sad in retrospect. Older manga like Ichigo 100% and Ranma1/2 could get away with developing the heroines slowly, but the era where a romcom was allowed to have +300 chapters is long gone. Authors fear being axed which leads them to prepare themselves for the finale at a moment's notice, which lead to strange or plain disappointing final arcs like TWGOK or To Love ru again. Compare both Kaguya and Nisekoi at their 61th episode. In Kaguya their relationship is so well defined, so evolved from their first days that it feels like we actually grew with them. We learned about the other members of the SC, while leaving the core issues with them (Fujiwara's fear of being left out, Ishigami's social anxiety) unexplored for further development. It also gave hints about what we might expect next. On the other hand in Nisekoi, they wasted half of the chapters introducing four heroines. We had chapters dedicated to the sidekick which had zero payoff in the end while grossly ignoring any potential exploitalble issues with the MC's fears of succeding his mafia father, which then again had zero payoff. The only thing we had to look forward to was Marika's disease, which was handled so poorly that it makes me seethe with rage.

You say I'm biased against harems and you're wrong. I actually love them. So much that To Love ru, which I watched, looking for a replacement for my beloved Urusei Yatsura which happened to have a similar plot, and Nisekoi, whose author had a work I liked felt like betrayals. You know there are good harems, and those works should highlight both of those series' flaws which were apparent from the beginning. Both added more girls than they could handle. Both made them in love with a cardboard cutout of a MC who are even bad at being a self insert excuse. Both stubbornly refused to do anything to portray any meaningful development, instead focusing on the fanservice and tired hijinks which stopped being funny after the 90's. The three series started with heaps of potential, yet Kaguya flourished into the weekly enjoyment that makes me lurk in 4chan's /a/ board every Thursday to see early, while Nisekoi and To Love ru devolved into the cancer that plagues romcoms now, and will continue to do so as Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san is a testament of.

Nice, Shirogane lost his flawless streak thats been happening since a few chapters if he really confessed right there i would have called it bullshit.

Yeah, honestly he kinda needed a nerf lately.

Let's just hope they aren't a generically snooty rich kid (though who are we kidding of course they will be).
