Spoiler

Is this your first time reading a manga with a morals comitee? Try reading Medaka Box or Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro

(Maybe that last one is a bad example)

School shapes your moral code, in a conscious or subconscious way. You may think that it's bad to do something, but if you see it being done a lot, then even if you know it's wrong, you will start thinking that since people do it, it may not be that wrong.

If you tell me that only idiots get influenced by their environment, then remember that it's a school setting. While they may be influential and have powerful parents, they're still kids.

Also, Miko a cute.

Spoiler

Urgh, great. Well, this had been enjoyable while it lasted. I will give it a shot because it was a fun read so far, but I might just drop it if she is annoying me too much *shrug*

And about everything else you said:

It bothers me because someone else is trying to dictate the way people live. It's not her business and it shouldn't be. In the first place, school regulations should be decided by the principal or whoever it is that is in charge and those rules should be enforced by the staff, not some children who do it in their free time because the teachers can't be bothered. It's not a student's job to guide students. It's the teachers' goddamn job. If they wwant to give so much value to morals and their stupid rules then they should see to get them enforced with their own strength instead of delegating the task to students.

Besides, school couldn't possibly be where you learn morals because in Europe we don't have moral commitees or something comparable. At least in my country we don't. We have no student uniforms, no after school clubs and our student "council" used to meet up every 3 months or so to discuss some student problems that had gathered up over time. We don't make a sport of having the top scores. In fact, teachers need to ask permission from a student to even disclose their marks publicly. Still, our society isn't full of people being assholes or good-for-nothings. That's because your moral code is something that is forged by your surrounding. The whole surrounding. School is a part of that, yes, but an even bigger part is family and close friends. And you also get a whole lot of morals from just using common sense.

If you have to form and enforce strict rules just to keep people from being fucktards, you actually have bigger problems in your country/society. Some more deep-rooted ones.

Even if school morals dropped, why should I care as a student? All I need to care about is my personal performance. As long as teachers teach, all I need to do is study. Nothing else matters in school. Rules should apply to only that and nothing else. What students do during breaks, whether they play games, talk casually or study does not matter. It is not a lesson. How they dress does not matter, it does not affect my learning. If their clothes make you feel inferior because they wear expensive clothes and you only can afford cheap ones, let the school issue you clothes that are the middle ground.
It's a school, not a military academy. Kids are going there, not soldiers. The fact that moral comitees even exist in schools is kind of sketchy. Or that family names even matter. People should not care how my son does in school if I was the prime minister. In fact, it should be private information only he is allowed to hand out to others. Likewise, my influence should not be able to mess with the parents of other students. If such practice is even remotely common in Japan, I am suddenly not at all surprised that their people are very unhappy as a whole and keep suiciding left and right.

If you want to keep pressure on every citizen even from a young age, raising people like Miko and putting them into power is your best bet to achieve that.

And that's where that reasoning fails. The school is not only a place for absorbing information. Want it or not, you forge your moral code there, and the things you do have an influence on others as well. And are the school rules such a bother to you? They're just the lite version of what you're expected to do once you enter the workforce: Don't slack off, don't be negligent on your personal appearance, if you flirt do it in your free time. By far not enough to compare it to boot camp.

Also, if you really were just studying without breaking any rules then why does the fact that there's someone who tries to correct people who are clearly in the wrong bothers you so much if you supposedly aren't doing anything wrong? She's not doing it out of malice or envy. She's doing it out of a legitimate concern, which she backed with actual statistics and a warning that such behavior already costed them an out of school event and god knows what else.

Spoiler

Now let's hope that the author will handle these two new additions to the cast well. Iino can be an endearing character, but also potentially extremely annoying. Also her friend will need some chapters dedicated to her if we are gonna get attached to her.

Iino is a character that works in fiction, but that would be just too much in real life, but that's because she's an exaggeration of a certain point of view.

By the way, I can totally see her falling for Shirogane, she isn't that different from Kaguya if you think about it.

That username really suits you.

How so?

And that kind of small fry mentality is the reason the school morals lowered. The low morals already showed a detrimental effect in heir surrounding. Privileges were revoked, public opinion went down. She is right. It might be a tough pill to swallow for pampered brats who believe rules shouldn't apply to them but such behavior was hurting the school and the standing of everyone studying there. Miko had all the rights to call people off their behavior because she was on the morals comitee, and it was her freaking job to do so. Not to mention Shuchi'in isn't your average school, as Aka reinforces the notion on a regular basis. Children of powerful and influential people assist there. Any stupid move you make there can have powerful repercussions on your family's standing. Japan is big on respect to your superiors and prior chapters have shown that the most influential students there have the power to get rid of problem children even if that means deporting their parents. Finally, no matter how you try to dress it, what they were doing to her during elementary and middle school was bullying. Does a righteous attitude deserve such treatment? Does it deserves everyone mocking your convictions? Even the people who used to bully her understood that she was thinking of them in the end. That's called growing up.

So the election immediately followed the debate and Kaguya's constitution gave up, because the whole thing took so long? That was a weak end to a great chapter.

didn't you see the subtext on the last page "she'll never get those stains out" seeing Miyuki debate against Iino made her cum buckets

Miko is exactly the kind of kid I hated in school. It's nice if you are such a sucker for rules and proper behavior but don't force everyone into it.
You can be top of the class. You cna dress however you like. Heck, come in a military uniform if you so desire. I won't mock. I won't judge. But rat people out for bringing stuff to school? For not doing their homework? Trying to force your seriousness upon them? Get lost.

Yeah, sad thing you had such a hard childhood. But tough luck, you made it hard on your own. Kudos for choosing the hard road, but don't expect sympathy from me just because of that.

Did Kaguya ends up like that because she was so worried Shirogane was going to lose? Since the voting result was pretty close.

must be a case of...

knees weak, palms sweaty,

there's some fight in his rival already,

Myu's presidency.

How did you get this misconception?

Given she wanted to make Shuchi'in great again, I'm surprised she isn't president despite the lower vote count.

There's more second years than first years, they need an electoral college (comitee)

There's that page where Kaguya has a heart in her eye because to her Shirogane was going maximum sadist on Miko and to Kaguya, Shirogane looked super cool. I'm assuming Kaguya lost while everyone else had a victory due to the fact that Shirogane stopped being a sadist and she saw that he was actually drawing out Miko's true self. Basically he stopped being a sadist and Kaguya got sad(lost) because he didn't absolutely maul her.

No, while her own methods are different, she freely admits that it's 'all she knows' in relating to others. Kaguya actually likes it when he's helpful and acts the good guy, and knew just what he was up to when he went up there. Fujiwara's annoyance aside, Kaguya's just too exhausted and bow-legged to walk out on her own right now.

she's a year younger, so she was not in the school yet before

and toppling the hidden ultimate optional boss? you kidding me? :D

No, isn't she in Ishigami's class?  So wouldn't she have been in the school just as long as he has?

Ishigami is also a first-year, if you recall.

It's too bad Miko wasn't introduced sooner. She's shaping herself up to be best girl, but she's got a bit more to go before she can topple Fujiwara whose had a bit of a headstart.

I disagree. Based on Kaguya's dialog, she knew that Shirogane was going to help Miko get her message out. . .

Spoiler

Edit: And she loved him all the more for it.

On another note: what kind of fetish was it, that made Kaguya go weak in the knees now?

We know of her carnal desire to be glared at, but shirogane wasn't glaring that much today, so what made Kaguya go all heart-eyed today?

best guess is she simply was afraid of him losing the election and their archetypical "place to stay". because they are unable to stick together even tho they want to like almost any other manga couple.

Given she wanted to make Shuchi'in great again, I'm surprised she isn't president despite the lower vote count.

Ishigami wanted to crush Iino so bad that no one could blame or bully her for losing.
But Shirogane instead triggered a debate to help her campaign speech so everyone would cheer for her and he won barely with 47% to 53%.

Ishigami was really awesome last chapter, but Shirogane just won the MVP for this arc.
And the election. And new members (probably Meganekko-chan will join instead of Kashiwagi)

Needless to say, in the process he destroyed Kaguya due to dehydration too.

Nah the thing is ishigami's plan about crushing her is a "fan speculation" where this is actually his plan all along what shirogane did was simply also part of ishigamis plan.

The only thing that speculation got right is to show how Iino tried to beat shirogane even if every odds is against her.
