Dude. Dat dude is a fucking dick.

Er, I don't know if you've ever been to a school, but schools around the world are like that too.

Tbh, I'm pretty .. confused about your statement, specially because, I agree with you, but at the same time, what he said is true.

Well, for the previous guy, it's a manga, it usually puts reality into extreme situations. If high schoolers are jealous, manga high schoolers gonna be JEALOUS

So it seems like the one thing that I learn in every even slightly-socially oriented school manga/manhwa/webtoon/novel/etc from Asia is that everyone over there are suspicious, jealous, take rumors seriously, and bully others constantly.
It's honestly rather depressing, because this kind of stuff over and over again just leads me to think poorly of all the school systems (and, quite frankly, the people as a whole) over there, despite knowing nothing about them personally. As if I needed another reason to be annoyed and frustrated with humanity.

Chiyo...

It seems to me that what happened to you in Middle School is totally not Igurashi's "fault"...at all.

This seems so obvious to me I feel a little silly pointing it out. Am I missing or forgetting something here?

Wow, this got serious fast.

Moral of the story: don't believe rumors that bitchy school girls spread!

Chiyo bed hair.  Dayummm girl!

Spoiler

:3

Chiyo should stare at'em with puppy eyes to make'em talk.
Am I the onlyone who felt a little uneasy about Chiyo's attempts to get to know Shun a little better in ch 12?

How to describe it...like she is curious and wandering into what for her is an unexplored part of the forest but is unknowingly behaving a little like a bull in a china shop?

I really, really hope things turn out for the bes, with as little unnecessary difficulties involved for all concerned.

Also yes...Shun has his moments of being pretty perceptive, doesn't he?

I'm really enjoying this one.  I hope we can catch up to the raws soon.

Kouji Igarashi quit in basketball to make Castlevania.

On the whole basketball thing, I've read a lot of manga where they're playing sports, including a bunch of basketball ones, and I've never heard anyone say, "Look, basketball's fine and all, but do you know how tall you have to be to get into a professional league?  I can play in high school, I can play in college for fun, but this is not a career.  There is no way I'm joining a team, doing massive practices and all that and using up all the time and energy I need to get good marks and have fun, just so maybe we can get some kind of trophy or something."

Everyone just seems to take for granted that if you're good at a sport, naturally that must be the most important thing and you ought to spend all your time at it.  Why?

Well in HS sports and HS life in general is its own thing. You can be a popular stud in HS sports but never even break the college of professional level. So in that regard it is more like you have a chance to be hot stuff for now, so why not take advantage of it before you enter the real world/reality? Not that they are necessarily thinking that exactly. The same goes for being the smartest student, the best artist, musician, actor, etc... once they enter the real world almost everyone becomes another mundane cog in society, so why do anything?

I realized I wasn't going to do anything special with these hobbies after HS so I never really bothered with any of it. I kinda wish I did more in HS now and been "famous" for something while I had the chance. So if any HS or younger people are reading this, be the big fish in a little pond while you can! Don't worry if the skill will be worthless in the future.

Oh boy, the tragedy tag. I'll get my tissues in advance.

Wait I didn't see that before, is it foreshadowing or it's just based on some the released chapters information, because by far, we're not really in the "tragedy" zone yet mmm...

So, I wonder, is Chiyo going to ask Shun what she wants to know about him, or is she still being  Kouji's lackey and going to ask Shun why he isn't playing basketball? I hope the former, but I'm guessing the latter.

In ll fairness, it's really like that with anything someone is extraordinarily skilled at. If you're good at drawing, you will probably get comments saying you should go into art. If you're good at music, they'll probably say you should go into music. Likewise, if you're good at basketball, they'll probably say you should consider joining the team. People think that if you excel at something and you enjoy it, then why not spend more time pursuing it? It's not an unreasonable line of thinking.

Huh.  Not as dumb as he looks.  Saw through his friend pretty fast, anyhow.

Chiyo is summer clothing is HHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG

Seriously, respect? I'm a dude as well and I have no problems controlling myself alone with a female. The way he came off sounds like he's some beast that has zero self control. He lost quite a bit man points imo. Even more so with that creepy smile he had when he said it.

Man points?  I wouldn't go that far.  We've already established that he's an idiot; he just says dumb stuff without thinking.  As witness him now kicking himself for it and whining "OMG I'm such a moron!"
Of course this is also a little unfair victimization by the mangaka.  I can imagine him saying to her "I'm supposed to say what?!"  "Look, if you go over to her place and have a good time now already, I lose like half a dozen chapters at least--we're trying to keep this a little slow-moving.  You two already want each other so bad if I let you have alone time you'll be clinching before the scene is out!"

. . . do something behind Shun's back . . . he offered her in return . . . underhanded . . . conspiring together against him . . .

Going off the deep end a little, here.  Chill.  She's just being dumb--she didn't see anything wrong with trying to get a guy who's really good at basketball to join the basketball team and strut his stuff, so she agreed to the utterly underhanded course of action of . . . asking him to join the basketball team.  This is not the stuff of evil conspiracies.  It has not occurred to her to wonder seriously why he has not been wanting to or whether there's anything about the subject that might bother him, but that's her only sin.

It behooves me to understand why Chiyo would even agree with a complete stranger to do something behind Shun's back, especially so soon after they have actually been reunited. Of course we weren't privy to the whole of Chiyo's conversation with Kouji, so we don't know what he offered her in return. He was obviously attracted to her, at least sexually. Just by doing something so underhanded, it would seem that Chiyo now values Kouji's freindship more than Shun's. Does she not realized that if Shun finds out that she and Kouji were conspiring together against him, he may not be very pleased about it.

OMG. Chiyo, you're as subtle as caveman

I'm afraid I agree...wish she realized that there could be reasons why he is not playing that could be sensitive ones for him, just like she had reasons for initially reacting prickly with him when they saw each other again. :(

I wonder if she will find out too late....
OMG. Chiyo, you're as subtle as caveman
Omg. They're already sending food pics to each other. So fucking cute I swear. They should just date.

Oh boy, the tragedy tag. I'll get my tissues in advance.

It's a tragedy that they aren't already together.
