Author saved himself with this chapter. Was starting to feel like a grind though one of those cheapo mobile games.

Really? I'm still under the impression that the narration hasn't improved much.

Spoiler

tl;dr The sincere characters and the straightforward romantic plot are nice. But the author narrates too much. This story needs more meaningful conflicts and non-romance-oriented character interactions.

Sorry for the long rant; I just had to get it off my chest.

So before that she closed up her face waiting for Igarashi to kiss back just for jokes?

There is only one English translation of this series that I know of, and, so far, not once in any of the translated chapters has Chiyo come close to saying to Igarashi, "I love you" (or even "I like you," for that matter). So, no, Chiyo has not confessed to Igarashi.

The mere action of kissing someone is not an outright confession. I cannot think of an instance in any of the hundreds of manga that I've read where it was assumed that the act of kissing was a confession itself. It is always confirmed by the actual, verbal pronouncement.

Granted, Chiyo does like Igarashi in that way, as she will admit to herself, behind the closed doors of her bedroom where there is absolutely no chance of anyone, at all, hearing her say so, but, God forbid, to actually say it to Igarashi might just be beyond impossible for her...

Neither of them have aged (mentally) since that first kiss in elementary school, it seems.

It does seem to me that a lot of readers were under the misimpression that Chiyo confessed to Igarashi in chapter 21, which is about as far from the truth as you could possibly get. He confessed to her, and she ran away in complete panic mode.

I got to say even though Igarashi sometimes seems like an idiot, he sure know what to do when the time comes mmm...

This is what a main character should be like! Take notes every other romance series!

Only 21 chapters in, and people posting "finally" comments? Compared to other romcoms it should be "well, that escalated quickly".

Although what you say is probably true, more often than not, it does go a long way to show just how much readers are engaged in this story when they want Chiyo and Igarashi to hurry up and confess to each other. They really do seem like a perfect match.

I think I need to stop reading this manhwa before I get diabetes from these two.

It's from Japan though so it's not technically a manhwa.

Nicely done

Man, this image is so useful mmm...

Drawing an horor face styled after Kazuo Umezu must be some sort of badge of honour.

Little sister's gonna turn into one hell of a femme fatale. Her potential is unlimited P.S. Chiyo's face after seeing the slug was an exemplary expression of WTF and OMG mixed together

Finally...finally things were spelled out and made plain.

Now comes the wriggling, squirming and writhing interactions when they are around each other and begin to realize the ramifications of what they both 'fessed up to, I bet. XD

Good chapter. Thank you very much for the release!

is it just me?

or chiyo's face getting rounder this chapter?

They're both freaking idiots~!

If Chiyo is terrified of one measly sea cucumber, then she'd have a hard time with Igarashi's "cucumber" in the future...

A man is always young at heart(especially when it comes to the girl he loves)

That was beautiful man

Bizarre but a fairly common line in manga I find. It's a part of good guys are supposed to be protective of girls thing, or an observation of proper behaviour, I guess. Or put another way, it's supposed to show that he's conscientious and therefore a good romantic interest. Something like that. Someone actually educated in Japanese culture might be able to explain this type of thinking properly.

Dunno about Japanese culture in specific, but it seems like a lot of sexist societies are built around the notion that men have no self-control and are readily distracted and tempted by female presence and this will lead to men raping women.   So rather than men learning self-control, the approach is for women to take responsibility for this male flaw by minimizing their presence in one way or another so as not to tempt or distract men, and to minimize male opportunities for rape, and it's only a co-incidence that this tends to restrict women's lives and put them more under the control of people like male relatives.  Extreme examples are things like niqabs, women being relatively sequestered in their homes and not going places without an escort, but you see lesser degrees everywhere--take those squicky Promise Keepers.

Except he's in college.

A man is always young at heart(especially when it comes to the girl he loves)

Sounds like a teenager.

Except he's in college.

Igarashi is so freaking weird, he's so cool and down to earth, I mean the Honomi thing shows how good natured he is, and then the next minute he's a childish asshat that get jelous over a silly thing and starts acting like he was still in kindertgarden, I still don't get him

Sounds like a teenager.
I really liked the talk between Iga and Honomi. It was cute and honest. Now Iga, you need to be as cool and mature with Chiyo you hear?!
