Description: Daizaburo Edi-Ban, a Japanese-American, joins New York City's toughest precinct, the 34th. On his first day he is partnered up with John Estes, called Sleepy by his friends and Mad Bull by his enemies, a cop who stops crime with his own violent brand of justice. Mad Bull makes no qualms about executing common thieves with shotgun blasts if they even pose a minor threat to him or anyone around them. Mad Bull also often steals from prostitutes and does incredible amounts of property damage while fighting crime. Mad Bull's unpoliceman-like behavior often puts him in hot water with his partner Daizaburo and the 34th precinct. However, despite how reckless or illegal these acts are, a good cause is always revealed (For example, Sleepy uses the money he steals from the prostitutes to fund a venereal disease clinic and a home for battered and raped women). Perrine Valley, a police lieutenant, joins Daizaburo and Sleepy later on to help them tackle more difficult cases involving the mafia and drug-running.

Mad Bull 34 is inspired by the high-action buddy cop films of the 70's and 80's.

Next chapter will be completely unreleased in the West!

I can't wait to read it.

Note for fans

I knew the Charging Jackie arc because it was adapted in the third and four Mad Bull OVAs

They can be found subbed on Bakabt or Nyaa.si

Holy hell, you finally caught up to where I stopped reading this in 2009. I never thought I'd see the day. Amazing.

- 5 chapters to new material !

The first chapter of new material will actually be chapter 29, because the change in the editions caused chapter 27 (according to the tankobon) to be split right down the middle, and M@STERSCANZ released the second half of chapter 27 as chapter 28. Which means only 3 chapters left until we're caught up now. So don't miss our release of chapter 29 just because you think you've read it already!

Though there is not much comments about new translation in here, I want to thank you guys so much for not letting go of this project, all the best to Hokuto no Gun & HappyScans!

Is that a Jack Nicolson on ch. 7 pg.21?

Highly likely

This manga is about as close as you can get to those dumb 80s and 90s action movies in comic form.

Clearly you haven't heard of Dog Soldier. (You're welcome.)

Mad Bull is a lot bigger than the real life "Sleepy" John Estes!

1986, damn manga must be really good back then.

Some of my favorites are from the 80s! :3

Happy this series is getting picked up again, *very* disappointed its from the beginning. I like the better resolution and the translations are more detailed (i think) but man do we have to wait 29 chapters for the series to continue?  :( And theres still the Mad Bull 2000 reboot (?) thats only had Indonesian translations done...

Gee, it sure is awkward reading this in The Current Year as the kids say, considering everything going on.

Wow I love reading about exploding heads in HQ, but considering all the great manga that isn't scanlated at all maybe the priorities are a bit weird?

Then why not start scanlating some of those mangas yourself m80. At least source the raws. What are these great titles you were talking about?

You will eat what is on your plate, and you will enjoy it, or no dessert.

I'm sorry, who do we work for, exactly?

Pretty cool that Sleepy carries a Bob Chow 1911. Neat attention to detail.

Sigh... no new chapters and Hokuto no Gun doesn't seem to mention that they're doing this on their website.

That's a good question, I'm going to ask around.

Sleepy sweat is pure manliness.

We're handing the series off to Hokuto no Gun since our raws are rather poor and it took us so long to translate one chapter. Hokuto no Gun has rather high quality raws and I have no doubt in my mind that they will have releases out much faster than we did. Our apologies for not sticking with the series, but I assure you that MB34 is in good hands.

Thanks for everything you did, already :)

Sometime™

Our translator right now has been working on the next chapter, I can assure you this. It's going slowly though due to life/academic reasons, so when it comes out is up in the air. It will come out though, I assure you.

Thank you. Looking forward to it.
