Time to brush up on some old fashioned economics... -_- pretty sure this isn't the reason why I started reading this but whatever

I just miss the fighting and action. :(

Magi kinda stopped being about only that a long ass time ago. The story developed and went into another direction. I would suggest dropping it If you don't enjoy it anymore, but the thing is literally in the final arc (It was announced a while ago for those who dont remember).

I'm personally still waiting for Aladdin and the gang to show up again so they can tell us wtf happened in those 3 years of bullshit Alibaba death. So in the meantime It's likely this whole arc is building up to that? Like explaining what happened, Sinbad becomes FV, they defeat him with the power of fwendship and everyone is happy and Aladdin becomes Talladdin.

I don't feel like there is a lot more room for anything but that so yeah. Just gotta endure it.

I feel like I haven't read this in forever... I thin the last chapters I read had to do with the ending of the magic school where everything got super SRS.

I have a feeling that at this point that was probably a long time ago.  Just curious if people would suggest me picking it up again? I feel like I see a lot of complaints in the comments section, but not too sure if that's towards the mangs overall...

I did enjoy this manga for a bit, but I did find it to get a bit crazy at the end of the magic school arc.  I felt that all this magic, and djinn power, which had been very basic for awhile...  Just exploded out of nowhere....

Dear Sense Scans, thanks for fucking up the RSS with your upload policy

Sinbad is a lake of piss nobody is surprised.

I'm glad they have Koumei there to avoid shit to completly hit the fan, now Alibaba took a while to realize they live in the kind of world he used to live in when he was actually going around selling fruit and stuff.

It does feel like this is being dragged a little tho... I'm not super interested in what Alibaba does as much as I'm in what pretty much everyone else does where is Aladdin and mor wtf

Actually i didn't give two shit about Aladdin and Mor . This manga should be revolve about Alibaba more .

I always love how comic-relief character at the start power up and be useful , in this case , he fucking break the wall and become the protagonist . This is interesting .

It's like Beelzebub but it's was a major disappointment for Furuichi to went back being the comic-relief .  I thought the mangaka was being smart and creative , giving him power but only for a one-time arc .

Having thought about it, I'm not sure I like this new world - I'm not sure it's believable. Trade would not be enough to eliminate all crime and war and strife, after all, it's not like there wasn't trade going on between the countries before this. At the very least, we could say that the world of Magi seemed realistic in its worldbuilding. Now, we can't really say that anymore.

I'm actually not too disappointed. Just imagine Iron Chef except with trade as the medium instead of cooking. I wonder who's going to provide commentary. XD

Instead of China, Kou's history of invading other countries reminds me of another country that made themselves "Great Again" after their devastating loss on World War, hmm....

But that country works to it's dream of world domination via vassal states. It has many Machuko's and Menguko's around.

Kou did it via outright conquest, not via making the conquered believe they were free.

edit: Unless you talk about that slowly healing big country in the east, then it's a bit off.

And soo .. Alibaba the great merchant arc finally begins huh ?

Seems like the author trying to drag the story more for me .. no clue for Aladdin and morgianna .. damn what i want to see is then conclusion of what really happend all this time not some trading companies, cmon even the "yuusha trading merchant" was more cool and sophisticated than this ..

*sigh

I'm pretty sure smart business people have clarification of a contract before signing. Alibaba could not have gotten these people to sign ASAP even if he did propose this. Plus, the fact it was already stated they needed time to make a decision and wouldn't/couldn't make an agreement without thinking it through. Y'know large kingdom choice making aka the monarchy and/or parliament? Politics and opposing decisions? Without confirmation, it would be illegal for Alibaba to set up teleportation circles in their territory. Just sayin.

funny but is there really a need for him to set it on their territory? couldn't he set it outside but near (that's what they are doing now, actually) or, even better, in a transport of their own, I mean, set it in a ship or a land vehicle.

Here's a message addressing our new delay policy
Batoto, since it's opening, has been a well known site amongst readers. It's the aggregate site that's 'by and for the scanlators', providing the majority of titles for people to read with fast updates appearing on the front page. While this is convenient for readers, over the years it's gotten to the point where there's not much distinction between Batoto and other aggregate sites such as Mangafox. At the moment there's no real incentive for readers to support us by reading on our site. Even those that are kind enough to go out of their way to view chapters on our site's reader aren't getting anything out of it. Some of you might be wondering why we're 'targeting' batoto with this delay policy if other sites are doing the same thing. Batoto has always prided itself on supporting scanlators, and readers that respect that use their site over other alternatives. The issue is how exactly have they been supporting scanlators? In the past they had a system in place to share ad revenue from the series with scanlators but that has since been abandoned due to legal issues. In enacting this delay policy we'd like to make it clear that reading on aggregator sites does not support scanlation groups. If you would like to help scanlators like us in continuing to bring you the series you enjoy please do so by reading on the group's site. To increase visibility of this message we've decided to utilize batoto's policy of respecting scanlation groups' wishes regarding release delays.

We challenge other aggregate reader sites to follow suite, but it's extremely doubtful that they'll do such a thing as it eats into their profits.

Oh well.

Magi 303 is now out on the Sense Scans website. The chapter won't be uploaded to Batoto for another week as per the new policy, so you can read it there first. http://reader.sensescans.com/series/magi__labyrinth_of_magic/

Alibaba too naive should've gotten written contracts and set up shop asap simultaneously and have them running instead of waiting for those 2 weeks n00b.

kidcongo cranks out two updates in one week. regresses 12 chapters.

It's like spice and wolf all over again

I'm like, 90% sure Sinbad is at fault for the rumor. He is, after all, in a position to spread one so fast. (Him or one of his many, many cronies.) There's a whole lotta solutions they could take here, I'm interested to see how they'll go about it.

Alibaba's solution:

Spoiler

Hilarious, Ohtaka goes far and beyond with her analogies.

Now wait and see Sinbad starting a war because of oil I mean nuclear weapons I'm sorry, dangerous teleportation devices.

I love what she did. I thought this arc was too simplistic and childish, but Ohtaka once again shows her grasp of world economics and politics. She kind of in some ways reminds me of Orwell. You can't outright tell people of the corruption and reality of the world, you have to put it within fiction, otherwise they try to kill you (credit also to George Carlin for that---he has a nice quote about it that I'm extending to here).

Speaking of oil, the worldwide corruption scandals are funny in that most people don't care or know, especially outside of a few countries like Brazil that are most impacted by it. Do you think Ohtaka will work that in too? That would be pretty slick.

And so begins the trade war.

...but seriously, douche move Sinbad. Douche move.
