Well, you have Aladdin to thank for that more than Hakuryuu. Even though the latter did defeat Gyokuen, Judar still retain the mass of black rukh from Magnostadt and could easily become the Medium at any time, in fact he almost did in Night 259 hence why Aladdin give him the Kars treatment.

The summit wasn't about "what it means to be a king" it was Aladdin informing the current super powers of the world about Al-Thamen and why they must band together to deal with them, not fight amongst themselves.

And it was totally unnecessary. Hakuryuu is shockingly weak compared to a lot of the vessel users (barely beating Alibaba is a dead giveaway), and he still managed to defeat Gyokouen.

Hell, Aladdin and Alibaba could have usurped the Kou empire off him if Alibaba was less naive, and that'd have destroyed Al-Thamen's power base completely.

Co-operation between all the overpowered 'heroes' is completely pointless when the bad guys are shockingly weak. The real problem is that they're all too self-interested to actually do what is right. So the issue was never Gyokouen, it was how awful Sinbad and Kouen are. They both need to be destroyed for the world to know peace.

As the only man of action Hakuryuu is the deserving king.

At least the worlds not going to be destroyed by a tentacle demon while a bunch of cunts shuffle their feet and talk about what it means to be a king

I can kind of see where the two generals are coming from, no one in the Kou empire did everything to stop or punish Al-Thamen from running amuck and killing the two of previous two emperors and princes, but you could argue that Hakuryuu has done way more damage to the Kou empire than Al-Thamen. Brainwashing his own people, basically turning them into tools of war and forcing them to fight in a civil war that will no doubt result in many casualties, all the while doing what he was so angry at the rest of the Kou empire for doing using Al-Thamen for his own gain albeit more forcefully than they did.

All in all, I'm not really siding with either of them, this is just not a "good vs bad" fight, and I'm not sure it'll end up in a "side A wins, side B loses" thing either, and if it does, whichever wins wil probably end up seriously damaged, and we'll cut into a new arc when someone (my money's on sinbad) comes to take advantage.

It actually reminds me of Ur-Quan Masters 2/Starcon 2. The Kohr-ah just slaughter and kill everyone, the Kezr-ah enslave them. Of course neither is good for the victims, and ultimately someone else needs to beat them both.

I recently have been watching the anime (I hope there's another season) and I didn't realize that Kougyoku is actually just as bloodthirsty and isn't the nice, shy maiden we are used to because of her crush on Sinbad and the way she's drawn. In the anime she was all set to attack and kill innocent Balbadd citizens that had absolutely nothing to do with anything, and had no qualms with enslaving all of Balbadd either. The manga is probably the same, but it's been so long since we'd been at that part that probably most of us forgot.

Alibaba and Aladdin are really the only two "good" guys in the manga, because they have a dogged determination to prevent death and suffering and are not interested in power to rule others. They'll both compromise and seek resolutions that save lives and avoid conflicts, not caring if they humiliate themselves while doing it. If anything, you can consider them unrealistic as a result, but it's also what makes them uplifting and fills the shonen part of the story, which otherwise isn't black and white and doesn't always have easy answers.

all i want is Kougyoku to not die.

pls.

Kougyoku best grill.

I agree. Kougyoku cooks evenly my meat and she's easy to clean. Definitely the best GRILL.

Sure hope so, I'm not 100% sure about death flag that's why I'm talking about a defeat one.

Yeah, her flags are close to that level. But so are Hakuryuu ones.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE IRONY.

THE HYPOCRISY.

10/10 would read again.

Weird I'm not seeing anyone comment on the fact that Hakuryuu is using the leftovers of Al tharmen for his agenda.
Also the girl with black teeth reminds me of that lady with the "aru" speech.

Wait a second, I feel like I've seen those faces somewhere before...

O mai gawsh- Run for your lives!!

So basically, through his soldiers, Hakuryuu consumes (and exhausted) his magoi while trying to force (a couple of) his enemies consume their magoi?

Wow it must take a (complicated?) strategy to achieve that, like, him fighting his enemies normally?

That girl with the black teeth is bad news, I can feel the flags getting raised.

Based Hakuryuu will pull through

C'mon Hakuryuu, get it together!

You have to kill all these chumps before all the really smug superpowered assholes like Kouen and Sinbad come around and start preaching about their perfect world while making everything worse.

I actually want the emo to win now. Just cause of the 2 Generals.

I hope they finally kill this whiny little bitch.

Didn't you read all the previous chapters?

Spoiler

I hope they finally kill this whiny little bitch.

I'm pretty sure hakuryuu mentions before while talking with judar about how he doesn't care about "his perfect world" he just plans to keep kiling his enemies, and if he runs out he'll just search for another enemy to kill.

Kouen and company, on the other hand, do have an ideal they strive for, though I just can't consider their ideal a realistic one (which is why I found kouen plain hypocritical when he got all high and mighty when lecturing alibaba on how childish and naive he was), of course their methods aren't particularly agreeable either, his end goal isn't world peace, it's world domination disguised as such.

Yeah, by "perfect world" I meant exactly that. Actually I think we already said this a couple of times before lol Haku is just angry and wants to break stuff because of it.

And of course Kouen wants to kill two birds in one shoot. I think what he meant by saying to Alibaba that he was naive, was that the world of politics is not as simple as he thought. Just like when Sinbad told him he was willing to do sketchy shit to get his country on the better side of things.

And yeah, this is basically a family quarrel because the little prince is going through his rebellious phase. Sinbad of course is going to get advantage of the situation, no matter whose side wins.
I still personally want Kouen to win anyways but I always root for those that I know won't win  orz

Is really nothing surprising, but is rather sad too. I mean, his whole ideology is basically "Kill those who don't agree with you so you can make 'Your perfect world'". C'mon Haku. Even Kira was better than this.

Because you're being pessimistic. these death flags are not nearly strong enough to justify her death.

Sure hope so, I'm not 100% sure about death flag that's why I'm talking about a defeat one.

I am increasingly displeased with Hakuryuu. Just, all the creepy zombie army and non-consensual implantation of foreign organisms and megalomaniacal delusions. When it starts getting into murdering your own family  members (family members who would quite willingly not kill you if given the choice) you know there's something majorly wrong. Dude needs to chill.

Haku has been a mess for a while now.

Those guys suck. They're willing to destroy entire countries and cultures to protect an arbitrary concept of peace, yet they wouldn't stand against the woman that literally planned to destroy the planet.

I think is more complex than that. Plus, is not like they actually scratched their asses when Gyokuen was trying to actually destroy the planet. Not only that, WE KNOW Gyokuen was crazy strong, wich is why Hakuryuu decided to get stronger, so he could go against her. I'm pretty sure his other siblings were thinking the same (If they did know about it. So far we know Kouen knew what was going on. And presumably Koumei); What is the purpose on opposing her when she could have killed their asses just like that?

I mean, I understand Haku is upset, but he is being super dramatic and unreasonable. He snapped when his sister didn't want to go with his views. She instead of wanting to wave another war, thought of the world as one (wich is not enterily wrong... I don't remember where that mentality comes from: Does It come from her encounter with Aladdin? Someone confirm).

Anyway, the manga has been showing us for a while that things are not white and black. So saying "baahhh kouen is shit and so are the rest of his family!!" is not exactly correct.
