Type: Manga (Japanese)
Status: Ongoing
Description: 15 years ago the world discovered magic as well as mythical beings (basically beings from various legends) in another dimension. Humankind learned to summon these dangerous mythical beings and use their power to great effect. 7 countries formed contracts with these "Diva" and gained their alligence as a result. Diva will chose their summoners on their 14th birthday and give them a stigma. Schools have been set up to train summoners and magical swordsman (basically bodyguards that give the summoners time to cast their spell) as a result.

15 years later after the finding of magic Kazuki Hayashizaki is chosen as a summoner and given a stigma to indicate that. This is surprising since males aren't chosen as summoners due to their low amount of mana compared to females. As the first male to be a summoner Kazuki is under a lot of scrutiny by almost everyone.

To complicate matters his sister (who's a magical swordsman) is against him going into summoner school to train there as a summoner. Because summoners and magical swordsman have a cat mouse thing going on where summoners look down on magical swordsman as inferior so his sister naturally is against him going there. She'll stop him even if it means going to war.

Kazuki however is determined to thrive in summoner school and have already determined to give it his all. Even if he's the lowest ranked student (ranked E) and his fellow students intend to demean him he'll prove himself as the strongest summoner.

adaptation of the light novel written by Mihara Mitsuki and illustrated by CHuN

First i want to say i like this series, the LN and the manga... even if it were to receive an anime by chance i'd probably watch that to. Certainly with cross overs they always leave things out which (My self) can live with. Most of you people say rather rude or hurtful things without paying it any mind.

Sure this series and like many others has similarities with others. But please keep in mind this is, this and that is that. You compare one series with another and then complain how mainstream it is... well just so you know when someone compares things to what they like or hate the creators will then in fact make more of the same.

If you fit in the category of not like this manga or LN, then no one is forcing you to stick around and read it. Just say you don't like it and move on. Just because it doesn't fit your fancy as something good doesn't mean the work is complete shit. regardless of how much work goes into a piece of work there is still someone who worked on it. Be respectful about it. I am not saying you can't have your so called freedom of speech but at the very least be respectful.

It's not easy to come up with something from completely nothing write 11+ volumes of a novel and the art work for it and then go and get it conscripted for 6 volumes of a manga. How many of you actually went and paid for an LN or one of the mangas? It pisses me off when you go and hack something apart when you lot didn't even purchase a single copy. You watch and read pretty much all forums of work for free on the internet with very few of us actually contributing to sales.

Someone said earlier in the comments that saying axing a manga is like saying kill a person. That hit the nail on the head. Yeah i know i am feeding the trolls with this comment but it pisses me off to see something i like be picked a part or "AXED" because the one's who didn't like it got their way over those who liked it.

I know my spelling and grammar sucks so i apologize.

second that. stays true to the novel, but extremely slow pace. this is at the end of the second or the beginning of the third novel. so this might be a good time to switch. it's got eleven volumes out so far and those are released roughly in the same intervals as manga volumes. guess it will never catch up.

As someone who has read all 11 volumes, there a some differences between the manga and the LN but none the less the manga is still awesome. I enjoy seeing the visual aspect of it getting to see the character actions come through imagery.

The LN seems to release every 3-4 months and the guy who translate it can finish the whole thing in less then a month sometimes a week depending on what he's got going on in IRL.

Honestly I don't know much about the manga releases, there was a point where it was coming out every week then it went to a month and now it seems a bit long. Is that because there are no raw's to translate or because there just isn't enough interest in this work?

Last I heard about the manga was that it was conscripted for 6 volumes and as of the last chapter we are at the end of volume 2 in the LN. It'd be awesome if they continued the series after volume 6 but as the LN grows in volumes so does the ecchiness lol.

The manga is pretty faithful except they left out some parts during this chapter battle.

for those who have read both the manga and the novel, how faithful is the manga to the novel? Can i just pick up the novel where the current chapter left off, or am i better off reading from the start?

Thanks for the revival cloud

I forgot this story

omg, I forgot about this series since ch 18, the breadfacemanchapter... gotta start reading, cause I saw some comments saying Lolis.

First: Accepted with all the sincerity with which it was given.

Third: I'm curious, who did you have in mind (in addition to digitalromance78) when you said "sad in general to see people who said they wish for a manga to get axed"? Also, I'm confused: What is it that you're saying you wrote in the same post where you quoted me? All I can see at present is

...and I don't see how any of it (other than twice using "people", the plural) is relevant to whether you were referring to me.

Well, they're not here, and i don't want to remember them. I goes to a lot of mangas on batoto and other sites and i have my share of encounter with people who comments with how they wish the manga get axed because it just doesn't satisfy them, or the plot felt stupid to them. Even if they're just troll, it still makes me sad.

Usually when people quote someone, it's not seldom that other people who read it thought that the whole comment is geared toward the quoted. So when i stated how i dislike those who comments about how they wish the manga get axed in the same post where i respond to your comment by quoting you, it's not a stretch to say that i indirectly referring to you. My post that you quoted was the edited one by me after i wrote my previous latest comment here, to make it so that i seem less to accuse you for wishing the manga to get axed. If you didn't find that post of mine felt like i accuse you, then my edit is a success.

This is how that comment of mine looks initially:

First, I apologize, to you arimareiji, and everyone who's offended, i admit i got quite emotional back there.

Well, that escalated quickly.

And for the record, I neither said nor feel that I want this manga to get axed. I said (and feel) that it's likely. Learn the difference, please.

How can you wish for sooner than "already"?

This chapter shows that either the axe is on its way up and the manga is futilely resisting ("Grab attention somehow! More boobs and fights, stat!"), or the axe is on its way down and they're writing the last chapters now.

You know that this is just following the novel right? Are you going to say that on every climax a series has it's doing so because they need more readers to avoid an almost near axe? Do I need to say that's totally baseless?

[emphasis added] Man, i just sad in general to see people who said they wish for a manga to get axed.

For a manga, getting axed is the same as getting killed. In essence people who comment at how they wish a manga get axed in that very manga comment section is like someone who told someone else to go die with all of that person relatives present. Not a very nice thing to do.

I guess this is why we can't have nice things, huh?

Well, that escalated quickly.

True story: For the most part, the real reason we can't have nice things IRL is that there are people who get butthurt and blow things completely out of proportion when anyone says or does something they don't like. Changes that most people like are often great; a change that literally everyone likes will be tepid at best.

And for the record, I neither said nor feel that I want this manga to get axed. I said (and feel) that it's likely. Learn the difference, please.

it reeks of mainstream... something was 'clicked' inside me telling me that i've read some titles with similar plotting... i can not actually recall what manga, but this plot is kinda boring... i'm not that hyped-up anymore starting from ch.21 and above...

what a waste... godly art with a kinda-mainstreamed-like-plot...

hope the axe will swinging sooner...

If you don't like this manga, why are you still here and read it? Just go away. When I don't like manga, I stop read it and move on. Why it is so hard for you? Also, you want the axe because you don't 'like' the manga? What about us? We like that manga.

How can you speculate so? This is the same with how it happened in the novel, how can you not consider that this is exactly the pace it was intended to?

Hey-Hey-HEY.

You can dislike and mock this manga for all i care, but if you really don't like it must you wish for it to be AXED?

Stop reading the manga and unfollow it is enough don't you think?

If your real intention is for the author and the artist to start working on something better then at least you're not a 100% butthole, but just because the manga starting to bore you you wish for it to get AXED, really...?

And yes, i like this manga and believe this manga doesn't deserved to be axed yet.

Yes, the plot is not very original, and you should know in this day and age what's truly original is very scarce because almost everything has been done before, and not everything with the same mainstream plot will ultimately ends no better than each other.

This manga (or more precisely the original source, the novel) doesn't just copy-paste everything mainstream and present it with a boring delivery. One thing that was never done in any harem story before this was made is the existence of the in-universe "Affection Meter". This ultimately renders the MC unable to be Denser than Dense MC, and logically the reason why he could sway all the ladies' heart cuz he got hints at how his choice affect their affection towards him.

Because i'm not a Novel reader, can someone who reads the Novel spoils me the hints at least of what kind of arc is the next, please?

What that mean "desire"? lalalala~ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Im starting to like this story in a twisted way due this plot-fanservice balance.. I mean the story isnt great but quality of fanservice holding it up makes it readable.. I just hope this coup detat doesnt make this go looney tunes to the bone..

Good god that shading.. Monrin has drawn more than his fair share of doujinshi to obtain that..

So he's basically Shirou now?
