I don't think the problem lies in the plot armor itself, but in how said plot armor is implemented. Many MCs have plot armor, but it's generally implemented through pure luck, good story planning or various outside help/divine interventions. I don't think anyone ever complained because Harry Potter or Luke Skywalker had a plot armor.

The things is that, here, the "plot armor" is actually written in the story and acknowledged by the relevant characters.

It's kind of sad from a reader point of view to use that method, since there is either: a) no sense of danger for the mc, or B) the danger will always make use of the same known weaknesses or a convenient ass-pull.

Headshot him = Profit

Nuclear strike on him = Profit

Miyuki tells him to die = Profit

I admit not many ways to kill Op-tsuya

Cute Miyuki is super cute.

And chapter 11 is bound to be good since its title is "Onii-sama"

The walls and roof of the 'underground shelter' is supposed to be gone!

~just ranting

He is. What you see is Miyuki-vision.

Yes, that was needlessly provocative. There were several scenes in CH11-12 where there is a naked girl/woman dominating the page, any more than that and it would need an ecchi tag...  Ok author, now that you've needless tried to awaken the lolicon in everyone, it's time to get back to the death and destruction that we (or I at least) came here for.

I couldn't help but remember about Freud's psychoanalysis of life and death drives (Eros and Thanos) when I read your comment.

I thought Tatsuya is supposed to be a lil boy at this point -.-

This is probably horrible of me but:

Spoiler

But anyway, for all you whining about plot armor: You cannot avoid it in linear stories with clearly defined protagonists.

And here comes zombie Hulk with his power cosmic ready to fire.

I would argue that that is basically plot armor. He won't die because the author made it so that he wouldn't die. For plot reasons.

NO it wasn't like that. That second arc existed for the that single reason.

Remember, he had two CADs to nullify that "prince's" attack, but where did his second one go? In fact, that regeneration of his was never meant as an asspull, it felt more like the author was trying to advertise his MC's op abilities.

I love MKnR/Y. Just want to get that out there.

But anyway, for all you whining about plot armor: You cannot avoid it in linear stories with clearly defined protagonists. If you don't like the details that has nothing to do with plot armor in stories, then you will never enjoy them. What you may want to look up in such case is stories without clearly defined protagonists, such as Game of Thrones or soap operas, since they both follow the same fundamental story format. I'm not going to respond to anything regarding this, so react to this as you will, but if you don't like what I wrote then please don't spread the hate.

Because a negative comment is still a comment? I don't know why I'm expected to hold my tongue just because I think something is poor. This isn't pre-school. People shouldn't say nothing just because if they have nothing good to say.

I agree. There is no point in arguing over definitions because you just made up a new definition.

I can't help it if you don't find yourself being excessive but since you've probably heard the same reprimand from others around the site, I'll leave it at that.

The conqueror has come, armored by the storms and commanding lightning.

And a lot of pants were crapped that day , but no evidence was left of it.

My inner fangril is going KYA KYA for Oniisama right now XD

*Ring Ring* Tatsuya: "Hello?" Superior: " You're needed in Akame ga Kill." Tatsuya; "So who do I kill?" Superior: "Lol... no, we need you to ressurect people. A LOT of people." LMAO!
Daw, what a cute smile

... This isn't pre-school. ...

Speak for yourself...

Zing!?

I'm still trying to figure out why you are the one person who always has something to say in relation to a topic that you obviously could have avoided since you find so much fault in Content. Seriously, I see you making distasteful comments at many manga pages when you apparently show zero interest in the actual manga. I personally don't mind debating with you, but not everyone feels that way. If you really despise the plot devices and themes of a story, then drop it. You have some pretty unique opinions but an unfavourable way of displaying them.

And I'm trying to be friendly here, not start a flamewar over some petty thing like definition of plot-armour. And FYI it isn't my definition, it is the actual definition. Like others have said, plot-armour is when they had no reason to survive but did anyway because they are main characters. Cases where you were clearly down for the count for a considerable amount of time but suddenly get a thought and you get back up again with enough strength to one-shot the enemy you previously couldn't lay a finger on. It works for dragon Ball, but not in every other thing under the sun.

It basically is, but it's logic-bound plot-armour for the most part. Generally plot armour is something you just have with little to no explanation except maybe friends, love or some monster inside you.

I think we are forgetting something here.

Tatsuya can actually die.

It was explained in the light novel that as long as his brain remains intact he can recover from any mortal wound.

So, by following that very same logic, if he were badly injured in the head, precisely in the area where magic is processed, his divine ability wil not activate.

Therefore, it is possible for him to meet his end. But, I don't think that is probable.

And this is the tricky part.

His others abilities (elemental sight and decomposition) both work in tantum for that to never happen, partially because he is always aware of his surroundings and even if the enemy caught him by surprise, he can instantly activate decomposition to negate the attacker or anything that is thrown against him.

This is probably horrible of me but:

Spoiler

Thats a horrible definition.

By that logic, someone with the ability to regenerate from being thrown into the sun isn't plot armor as long as its explained beforehand.

You guys do know that Tatsuya has admitted that even he can't regenerate from an instant-death event?  Plot armor has nothing to do with it.  All the same, the main storyline has some of the best writing I've ever seen.

~~Dos

By that logic, someone with the ability to regenerate from being thrown into the sun isn't plot armor as long as its explained beforehand.

... it isn't plot armor. Plot armor is when a main character survives things they have no right surviving by sheer dint of being a main character, and no other logical in-universe reason.

Someone who doesn't die from being thrown into the sun because they're able to regenerate survives because their power is ridiculously OP (although in this case, I hope they're a strong enough flier to escape the pull of the sun's gravity, because otherwise, it'd probably be better to not be able to regenerate at all), but it's not plot armor, even if it's not explained or even hinted at beforehand (in which case, it's more of an asspull... but still not plot armor).

It basically is, but it's logic-bound plot-armour for the most part. Generally plot armour is something you just have with little to no explanation except maybe friends, love or some monster inside you.

Can that even be considered a spoiler?

OMG SPOILERS EVERYONE! The main protagonist is immortal! He has thing this called "plot armor"!

OMG NOOOO WHY DO YOU SPOIL THAT!!!!!!! u fiend! dissapear...

well a realy big surprise that the protagonist has plotarmor, couse it really rarely ever happens ;P

but on an even more seriouse note, i just noticed... WE NEED SMILIES!!! where are they hiding! xD

Wow,that chapter sure didn't show much.

Really, all of that could have been settled in 7 pages or less.
