As he begins to regret his past, he spots three high-school students directly in the path of a runaway truck. Not wanting to be left with further regret, he musters his strength to try and rescue them. Predictably, he loses his own life in the process. When next he opens his eyes, he finds himself reincarnated into a world of swords and magic, as a young Rudeus Greyrat. Born into a new world, with a new lease on life, Rudeus resolves that this time, he'll do what he couldn't; 'To live on seriously,' leaving no regrets. Thus starts the journey of a broken man who yearned to start his life anew.

The point is - I find TT event unnatural and greatly dislike it. You can argue, but it will change nothing.

If you want a very cynical view on the whole thing:
(Also, contains spoilers for the novel)

Eris' grandfather taking responsibility is probably one of the saddest parts in this whole series...
The other being another event I won't mention...
But yeah, this part was just so messed up...

I can now rest in peace....>////<

But the LN sure did a number on this arc....the WN was way more fleshed out. We didn't get to know much of Monkey-san, nor any of the beast girls before he even got out of prison... Should have said...."weeks later" at the beginning of the fire and added an extra chapter or something. >_<

I want to cry at the end. not the last page but this one http://bato.to/reader#103110c0e2eee674_40

Man, one fatsos head coming right up.... i hope

in most WN, the story of MC get too OP ...
can easily adapt and fix more than half challenge they face ...

usually MC get plenty nerf-ed after being adapted in LN ...
(Tate Yuusha, Mushoku Tensei, Konjiki Word Master, etc)
harder to use ability, not as strong, limitation / condition of skill, etc ...
^^ you will really notice the difference if you read the WN first, then read LN / Manga version ^^

I have read the web novel and it is made very clear that Rudeus would not be that strong without the help of the people around him. If you paid attention while reading you'd have noticed that it is thanks to his allies that he can get through hardships, and not thanks to his power alone.

Ehhh ... it's not sexual harrasment ... its .. its ... ehh ... uhmm .... handshakes?

Like handshakes yes! We human do it all the time!

The whole smuggler dude doublecrossing Rudeus was probably a thing in the LN since the manga seems to be following that specifically. In the WN, Rudeus just waits out his time in prison until Ruijerd and Eris come and clear up the misunderstanding, and then wait for the rainy season to end so they can leave the Great Forest.

But I agree. Mushoku Tensei's strength lies in the arcs directly after this one, when it becomes apparent that Rudeus, while strong, isn't nearly as fantastic as he is made out to be. Moreover, it's the point at which Rudeus's actions become more personal as he decides what he is going to do with his life. Although I wish they hadn't spoiled Sauros' death happening so early. The fact that it comes out of left field at the end of this arc in the WN is something that I felt was pivotal to the tonal shift in the story.

Amen, brother. Is it really canceled? Because I was looking forward to that spin-off the most ever since he mentioned planning to write it. In actuality, every single one of the redundancy chapters was boring to me. I just kept waiting for the Oldeus timeline. If it's confirmed to be canceled, I will cry. It was the best part of this story in my opinion.

The only reason people didn't like that segment with the maid is because it was very poorly written. I honestly think it would do much for the worldbuilding if a relationship like that were allowed. Keep in mind that shows like Game of Thrones have characters with similar relationships. It just wasn't done well and felt extremely rushed and as such, more like really crappy pandering than writing that might feel genuine. But I liked Sieg/Zeke a lot, his character in the spinoff novel is interesting. I think the author is very good at writing out a character's personality over time. If he wanted that writing to be well received, he should have spent a lot more time and effort on it.

Fitoa incident? Is it the huge explosion where everyone teleported?

Mmmh we sure this wasn't in the LN? I just know it's not in the WN, but I can't find translations for the LN chapters. Hell the LN has a whole extra volume coming up that the WN never covered. Hopefully the content is as good as the later stuff, since it's been written retrospectively for the Author.

The beginning of MT has always been meh tier for me.

Changing the story isn't helping here... They should've stuck with the LN. This latest chapter just makes Mushoku Tensei look like a generic isekai story.
