degraded?? corrupted?? those lil' shits are a bunch of extremely specialized proteins (and few lipopolysacharides) built around genetic material working together to replicate itself, so calling them degraded proteins is a diservice, but yeah, alright, it's not a consensus yet, but fuck, I guess prions are next then?? Also, you can't simply say "they are their own kind of living being" so they'll have to redefine WHAT is a living being if they want to call viruses proper living beings, which is a pain in the ass. Before long, the PETA will be rioting for the rights of bacteria and viruses :v

and about the series itself... I'm hating the MC more and more with every single chapter, I'm kind of rooting for any hidden god candidate, just let Poli kill that fucker and then have him killed by a decent new MC somehow. PLEASE.

You just saved me time to explain why it is not a consensus yet. Just look at it from the other side, why the hell is a protein acting like a living being?

You're falling in the old scientist's routine, you only keep yourself within conventions, prefer to not change the status quo, instead of properly analizing things once it goes outside what's deemed as truth.

As for the specialized proteins, i'm sorry but if that were true, then that would never explain why they have to reproduce or "feed" on other's organism, they do so because they are imperfect, unstable, it's pretty much like a corrupted line of script turning a file into a computer virus.

Yeah they will have to change their outlook on what is a living being IF necessary.

Otherwise the discussion will continue forever, unless they find a new point that can be used to defend the argument that Viruses are merely proteins.

Until then, "yeah, viruses are just non living proteins" or "Viruses are a new kind of living being" are both very valid arguments in their own way.

It is like Scrödinger box experiment, both possibilities will exist, until we finally open the box.

There's actually a whole discussion on that.

Because while viruses are a kind of degraded or corrupted protein, they do present some characteristics that belong to a living being(such as needing sustenance and reproductory functions), it just doesn't have enough of those characteristics to be an actual living being. However, that is not a consensus yet.

Some people do believe that while there may be not enough of those characteristics to be considered a proper living being, they are actually their own kind of living being.

What a lame manga with the most boring MC [...]

I also blame the unimaginative and shallow main villain. He's just annoying.

What a lame manga with the most boring MC. I can't believe that these guys were the creators of Death Note and characters such as Light Yagami. At the beggining it was okay, but every new chapter it keeps getting worse. Why did the Donal Trump mask guy run away by the way? Was he hit by the red arrow or not?

I have no idea what the bloody hell is going on anymore.

People that are supposed to become God are fighting. Everyone sucks and the story needs to end

But viruses aren't actually living things... oh well, I'll pretend those were bacteria of some sort, just for the sake of argument. (Attracting all bacteria in the atmosphere... yeah right, that was plain stupid. Oh well, "it's fiction"... Meh.)

That blunder aside, damn, I love this guy's art. That nurse-thing looked psycho AF.

There's actually a whole discussion on that.

I'm almost entirely out of cares to give at this point.

We're getting more and more into air gear territory

At least Air Gear was still fun to read as it devolved, this has never reached anywhere close to the same heights. I'm really disappointed, this artist-writer combo has produced a lot of quality work but this doesn't even feel like it's in the same stratosphere.

Metropoliman is right. Red's incessant moral grandstanding, idiocy, and nonarguments is sickening. Even the most shounen-esque heroes can usually manage an emotional rebuttal to the villains rhetoric. This cuckwonder can't even do that.

Please kill him, Metropoliman. Kill him and set us all free.

Can we hit the real President Trump with one of those red arrows before he really screws something up?

Probably one of the biggest beta MCs I've seen. Just shoot him with one white arrow you fucking pussy holy shit all that shitty boring dialogue and still nothing happens.

That's why I don't like love poligons?

Platinum End had a very interesting set up and what I think a decent job of setting a grand scale plot, dilemma, and emotions of the different characters in their quests to become God. I can say, however, that the delivery has hit a sudden style without substance problem. Also, I'd say it's suffering from way too much exposition during what should be actual tense moments and instead making them fall flat. All of the character build has become unconvincing and tedious as hell to the point I found myself cringing in this last chapter.

I applaud the author trying to illustrate the continuous internal conflict of the characters. But there seems to be no character build up. Where they should be learning or growing a bit by now instead they keep this overwhelming and unrealistic optimism in the face of literal murderers. It's almost to the point I have no want, desire or have any faith in him ever playing an important role in being God.

I will most likely come back to reading to see what happens in the future but will probably space it out to save myself some grief.

I only read this one meybw every 4-5 chapter and every fuck*** time i read this manga i remembered why i stop reading it...

oh god such good art but shit plot. fking garbage.

Ch.20, which just came out, was probably supposed to be "exciting", but the action was ridiculously drawn out, unconvincing and very difficult to follow. Most importantly, I just cannot care for the story or any of the characters.

Definitely agree with this. Throughout my read, I found myself remarkably surprised by how little tension I felt in this life-or-death situation. Stakes can't be higher but nothing feels urgent. The characters are cardboard cutouts in the case of our current crop of villains or mouthbreathing morons for our heroes, regardless, I care for none of their fates (with the minuscule exception of the cancerbro.) The lightspeed death-on-touch action is frequently paused wholesale for multiple panels of mental one-up-manship, and it just doesn't mesh with the sense of urgency the situation and action demands. And throughout all of this, aren't our heroes running on two straight days of constant physical and mental stress with zero sleep?

Everything about this manga is so aggressively mediocre, with a healthy tendency to dip into bad, that when I noticed this update I found myself thinking "ugh."

I don't think that at all.  If anything it was ridiculously easy to follow.  Specifically because not much happened at all.

I meant it in the panel-setup sense – sense of direction etc. Not the events themselves.

the action was... difficult to follow.

This is mediocre on another level. So even a good duo can fail, huh?

Yes, it is – beyond a couple of ideas, it's annoyingly generic and shallow, and it's getting worse. Anyway, the Ohba/Obata duo is competent, but IMO little more than that. It's not as if their previous works were masterpieces.

I think that their best, most interesting and most relatable work is Bakuman, which suffered from getting milked way too much and becoming stale.

this manga is getting worse....

Ok, talk about fandisservice xD, the nurse is sexy sure but she is also really grotesque.

I want more of the Donald Trump mask.

this manga became pretty mediocre, but it has to be said that Fuyuko's design is kind of super hot tbh
