Description: Aramiya Seiichi is an ordinary high school… eroge otaku who’s given up all hope on girls in the 3D world due to a certain incident. One day, after he’s bought a bunch of new material in consequence of experiencing the frustration of a perfect eroge character turning out to be “used goods,” he encounters a delinquent-like-looking girl being about to get raped by a bunch of guys. By mere chance, he rescues her. Days later, when school starts again, it turns out to have been his classmate, Ayame, a feared delinquent girl who’s got all kind of rumors about her – especially that she’s “used goods.” And it appears that she’s set on becoming his ideal girl to make him fall for her.

Just imagine how much shit storm the mc would have after reading Good Ending

"i can almost hear her hymen talking".....wtf.

Spoiler

At first my reaction is like yours. Thankfully, the informative footnote helped me understand the meme.

*sigh* another one...

Self-Insert "Good Looking!" Otaku?  Check.  "Dramatic and Tragic Pasts?"  Check.  Excessive focus on fan-service?  Check.

I swear there's been more and more of this shit every year. Which means there's been more and more demand for it every year. Which means there's more and more male losers in Japan every year.

Makes you wonder, what will happen to Japan when this decline hits critical mass?

Guess you lived on the backside of the moon till now.

Discussing about fictional stories is quite a common thing. People even did it before the internet existed.

Exchanging ideas and opinions through fiction is quite interesting.

More like the backside of pluto but, that is a different story. I understand discussing about fictional stories or the characters but, some people get straight up upset about it. Which I think is a little overreacting.

I don't know what is more entertaining this manga or the comment section lol. I recommend when reading any manga that you read it knowing it is based on fiction and is not really happening. If you really want to comment on how idiotic people can be just watch cnn atleast they are real.

yeah go jump in 5v1 and get embarrassed and make the situation worse, the police exists for a reason

or what, every MC in every manga should be a black belt in karate?

Nobody said that, the issue is that he was going to leave without calling the police and only called them because the rapists noticed him...  Not sure why you're so aggressive in defending this

I'm here to see how much a trainwreck it can be.

At least its not another isekai lol.

The premise of this was actually really interesting.

I thought it would be something like: A guy rescues a girl from sexual assault, she gets attracted to him (possible I guess, but I would've liked a different reason better), she's not a virgin and 3D so Mr. Otaku says no to her confession, she tries to be a stereotypical tsundere to appeal to him but constantly breaks character, he slowly warms up to her real self and reconsiders his views on purity and virginity (and no, just because she's not a virgin doesn't mean her ex-boyfriend has to appear to be a love-rival or some BS like that) and they live happily ever after.

But nope.

I mean it's only the first chapter, but yeah. There's a story to be had, the protagonist is an asshole(like, straight up), who's obsession with fantasy is so consuming that he won't even let the genre he likes breathe and almost lets someone be goddamn raped because he thinks she's unworthy of being saved. The character arc would be him coming to understand how evil his view of the world has become.

It could be that still, but I'm not reading a goddamn light novel to find out.

Because that's what they usually are. And it's hard to say who's more nuts. On one hand, dying your hair back to it's natural colour, changing your whole image and demeanor and trying to put on a little show for a new crush is a bit crazy but then again he saved her from being raped. On the other hand a loser refusing an out of his league top tier beauty that most are scared of talking to just because of your addiction to games and a rumour that she's not a virgin is beyond idiotic, and actually telling her his autistic reasoning is even more stupid. But then hearing that idiocy and realizing what a creep she's dealing with she decides to become better than his delusions which takes the cake... I'm just not sure if being saved by him from rape justifies it.

I'm sure no ones turn into a neet or a creep without a good reason, its hinted on his past though...

Sadly, this is an actual thing in otaku culture. This is yet another reason why otaku are treated like creeps in Japan.

But nope.

Main character has such a heavy bias about "non-virgins" that he thinks a scantily clad girl probably wants to get gangbanged in a dark alley while screaming no and fighting back. He just wants to leave her until he gets himself accidentally involved (yes, I know the description explains, that he rescued her by chance but I didn't think it would be something like that).

After that, I think to myself: Okay, there's a itsy-bitsy tiny possibility it's something similiar to the plot of Lassboss x Hero and the MC is an antihero, the female misunderstands him and falls in love because of that and the whole manga is a dark comedy.

Of course that's not the case. The author obviously wants us to sympathize with the MC.

I didn't read the original novel but through the comments here and the fact that we know that rumors in manga are false 97% of the time, there's a high chance that our female lead isn't even "used goods" which would destroy the whole message this manga could have had.

I'll have to see how the supposed harem-theme will affect this as well. I normally give harem-manga a bit of leeway regarding realism, but there's a limit to that and I can't see how it will work in this manga without feeling awkward.

Long story short. Heroine came from a broken family, acted out in school, got a bad reputation, treated as an outcast, and was unintentionally saved by a guy.Thinks there's someone who gives a damn about her, and devotes herself to her saviour.

Also read Chapter 4 of the LN Vol. 1 , it makes the whole thing worth it.

dude, you know there is spoiler tags for a reason?? ffs ¬¬

Got only one star from me. the male mc is more insane than the female one. i mean they have both more than a few screws lose but this whole "virgin" thing is just way over the top.

People should wake up and open their eyes to the truth. If you value yourself enough, you'll always have equal exchanges and the society will take a turn for the better instead for the worse.

Btw, there's no way that she's a used good. Just look at her being all shy when confessing, I bet it was her first time xD

That earns my bro-fist of approval.

So we have male A with bizarre misogynistic expectations and a self-depreciative attitude, and outcast girl B who gets an instant case of hero worship.  This will be a trainwreck that either leads to snarl of co-dependency issues and unhealthy relationships, or a Bildungsroman in which they trip their way down the ecchi staircase into self-respect.

And if we (collectively) remember our Scott Pilgrim, love can be fleeting or impulsive, but the power of self-respect is mighty indeed. >:3

P.S. You doods can chill here, I'mma go spoil myself on the LN.

Oh, it's bad !

Remember, people actually pay money to read this >_> Srsly, at least tell me that there is some underlying reason as to why this chick is this easy otherwise this thing seems like just a testament to how pathetic some otaku are/ are seen as

and here you are.... reading it

"i can almost hear her hymen talking".....wtf.

Spoiler

What is she, a stray dog that falls in love with the first guy that throws her a bone?

Seriously, I dont know what some mangakas are thinking...

So I'm guessing she is actually a virgin, probably never even had a real boyfriend and that all those rumors are totally untrue.....because let's face it, in this type of manga, god forbid the heroine should be anything like a real human being. I'm going to try and remain hopeful but I just get the feeling this one of those hikikomori wetdreams.

Yeah, you're pretty much right. They resolve all of that within the first volume of the LN.But once you get past, I dont know but there's something likable about the couple.Especially when their interests become similar

You are understimating the otaku culture my friend. Otakus are the kind of fans that boycott manga or eroges just because the heroine isnt a virgin or because she doesnt win. I still remember the shitstorm that oreimo caused when kuroneko lost or when Kannagi had to go on hiatus becauseNagi wasnt a virgin. (supposedly). Not even entering the realm of idols and VA's, there is an almost autistic dedication towards those too. Purity is the second thing requiered if you want to make it big on those fields.

TL:DR Obsessed otaku are kind of crazy.

I rememeber that kannagi thing... if I recall correctly, it was taken way too seriously.   There was like a few guys who got bent out of shape, but the media portrayed every otaku/Japanese person like they were all crazy and not the small minority that actually were crazy.

“Girls aren’t chaste …..what value do they have?” [cited from the LN-translation].

Well, half-true. The other half being that they devalued themselves.

That's on a moral-level,though. However, morally regressive people tend to have no justice in them. As a human being living in a society, you're always a product of social attributition, and partially it happens by boiling down your own features/actions into attributes. If you happen to value yourselves less than others and disregard common sense, you'll be turning into a "used good" sooner or later.

No matter if you're used for sexual innuendos or just for public entertainment [i.e. ostracisation/bullying/extortion], you'll become "abused".

People should wake up and open their eyes to the truth. If you value yourself enough, you'll always have equal exchanges and the society will take a turn for the better instead for the worse.
