Not sure about all these comments people made but if i got power like him
I would enslave humanity and then fuck everything that moves and have humanoid female shaped too

That's why this is more a collection of the author's wet dreams than an actual piece in writing, haha.

after reading ch29...  hmmmm...
i don't feel that enjoyable feeling that i experience during the early chapters of this manga... the only development that i could read after the LVL up of his friend is kill, eat, enslave, sex and so on...
the "enslaving of elf" was a bitter taste for me but i let it slide thinking this is the end of it... but NOOOO...

most agree that that is the point where the series went downhill. It went from a survival and exploration story to an exercise in how outlandish an overpowered the heroes can be made.

i will not be surprised if this manga will have 4.2+rating unless they make the next chapter more interesting....

btw... why is it, aside from the goblins, the other people, human or nonhuman don't have names?...

There was some effort in the beginning when they all started from practically nothing but it is quite clearly long past that point and it has been that way for quite a while.  It's not like the only alternative is power creep like in generic shonen, both are shitty writing in my opinion.  It's very difficult to write an intentionally overpowered protagonist that isn't done for laughs without the story being boring and pointless and this series fails spectacularly in that regard.  There's nothing else of substance  to justify reading the series either.  All the characters are paper thin cardboard cut-outs and the MC is an unlikable ponce with no redeeming qualities.  The genre of "protagonist reincarnated into a fantasy video game" isn't exactly a wealth of good writing to begin with but Re:Monster manages to be the worst one I've read so far.

It seems that japanese like the idea of overpowered and beating others with less or no effort, many manga and novel fall into this type. Re:monster is interesting at the beginning but when level and class became much more superior compared to other factor in battle it became less interesting, the struggle of battling others is gone in recent chapters and it's like a game where level is everything, well this story is like a game world though.

For me it's boring. The excitement of fighting and war story is its unknown factor that even a veteran general may die from ordinary soldier's sword if he's unlucky, when it's replaced by high level and status that you can't die even when stabbed in the heart then the battle practically became meh. I still read re:monster story since I'm curious how it ended but the passion from the beginning is not there anymore.

Are you nuts?

Have you forgotten that they have everyday training, sparring and freacking rangs?

He'd put alot of effort in giving his kind a possibility to win in survival competition.

He even had to kill the prevoius leader, who obviously had alot of "firepower".

So he made a decidion, which made his army less powerful, but he defended his posotion as a leader and stated that rules could NOT be breaked without a fair punishment.

For me, all, who stated that hero is an immortal scumbag are wrong, because he was like this from the begginning. And It's you, who did not see that, not author.

He HAD TO put an effort in the begginning, and he did! Now he is almost beyond the reaching point.

It had to happed someday.

Only in kids mangas and comics hero faces stronger opponents constantly.

And nor, for example, Luffy, nor Naruto, nor Ichigo, nor "place name of almost ANY shonen manga MC" will ever die or be in danger, because they are protected by plot.

This MC is fair. Author have never made fool of us, pretending that MC is in danger.

Even in that fight with a bear. He even took his arm off.

Yes, later he gain that anfair silver hand, and I find this twist very lame, but when you are looking at the bigger picture - those cons are just small trashy mistakes, which are not that important.

This is probably where I break ways with this story.

None of that shit is interesting because it's all handled to them on a silver platter without any real risk or effort.  There is no struggle in their achievements.

People just forgot how he establish order, he finds new home for the goblins, teach and train them to survive, he strategies to attack/ambush, he finds new ally, he gather intel, he capture the enemy commander/elites.

yet you think he does nothing interesting because you're fu*king idiot

This sounds terrible but part of me wants to read it and then praise it just to piss off the SJW snowflakes.

Liking something shit out of spite does no one any good.

the rating keeps getting lower... from 4.4+ to 4.33...
i only see few mangas that has rating from 4.7+ to 4.3+....

well, can't be helped... the story keeps getting semi-ridiculous...

He attacked the orcs and the kobolds who had done absolutely nothing to him. He also drugged and raped the human girls the warriors brought back, which too, had not done them any harm whatsoever.

Also, as any guy who is also schooled in any form of martial arts can easily confirm for you, combat ability also brings with it the responsibility to not overdo it, lest you'll be held responsible both morally and legally.

Last but not least, rape and plunder being part of our world as well whenever strenght meets weakness, victor meets loser, does not make it OK in any way.

It's a fantasy world where everyone has to survive on their own, for fuck sake he is a "monster humanoid" It's the survival of the fittest. He gave the human girls who were enslave and pregnant by his "parents" the choice to commit suicide.

He saved the human girls who were just capture. Not because he just felt sorry but because he knows if their colony grows the elves or humans will come to kill them.

The first elves came back to kill everyone on the goblin colony when they were kicked out the first time and warned not to go back. They didn't go back to have a talked go back and read the chapter.

Like I said go read a history book, up to the 1900s even during ww1 and ww2, when ever someone took over enemy Territory, not only they killed most man but they raped their women, this isn't something new. He enslaved the elves who first went against him. The fate of the new enemy will be the same. You either die in battle or get raped and slave by your new master.

I forgot to mention but the MC has far too many similarities with the MC from Kuro Inu. This isnt really a good thing.

This sounds terrible but part of me wants to read it and then praise it just to piss off the SJW snowflakes.

The problem is not the rape...it is a medieval fantasy world with different social norms after all.

The problem is that the MC is :

-Obviously the author's self insert (like when you read a fanfiction story where the MC is called xXSasukeXx)

-Is a blatant mary sue, even the other elves dont care that he has elf sex slaves

-Has OP powers, is literally less than two months old and has killed an elite group of adventurers more or less solo (they couldnt hurt him at all even when the other goblins werent fighting) and took out a 800 man army

-Faces zero consequences or obstacles for anything he does

-Was apparently a normal guy in his previous life but sees no problem with creating a harme of sex slaves via mind control and drugs

-Eating stuff to level up is a shitty plot device to skip character development is literally deus ex machina to make the author's self insert OP

Pretty much every chapter also follows the same format :

-I fought X today with my OP skills

-I ate and gained skill Y

-I had sex with Z

It is LITERALLY the author's self insert diary. This is the kind of stuff that would have gotten your entire class laughing at you if read outloud by the teacher in class. In middle school.

I tried to read chapter 28 and kept cringing. MC is untouchable, can facetank spells due to author fiat, and what is especially cringey is how he kept thinking about adding more sex slaves to his harem throughout the whole chapter. He had no character development to reach this point, but hes now crazed about expanding his sex slave harem at every available opportunity.

If the MC was some kind of hardcore criminal in his past life, his obsession would at least make sense.

You can tell the exact moment when the author simply stopped trying, when he soloed the high level group of adventurers with no effort at all. Before that, he actually had some level of difficulty like when he fought the bear. After that, everything simply went downhill because the author didnt want his mary sue self insert to have any trouble with anything anymore.

Not to mention the human captives (brought back by the older goblins) falling for the MC literally makes zero sense. Even if you are being treated nicely, you would still want to go home. Yet, they never even bothered to ask. Because that would be inconvenient for the author's mary sue self insert. And they had zero objections to the elves being drugged and turned into sex slaves. Because again, it would have been inconvenient for the author's self insert.

Not the greatest intro to two important characters but meh.. Wonder how they will do the Rusty Iron Knight in this :/

There first introduction in the light novel went by fairly fast, at least the battles did. They did get side stories that expanded those a bit but there should be more development for them later on so I think it did an adequate job. The novel is basically completely from Rous perspective and you don't really get other characters speaking in it, just him describing there conversations and such so I like that the manga does it differently but still keeps to the overall story and events of the novel.

I really like how this is from the perspective of goblins, usually the guys we kill and think nothing of doing it. I like too how while some of his moral choices are relatable others aren't. All in all he seems like a fairly reasonable goblin to me, reasonable human being? No, nice guy? Yes.

Have you checked "Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken"?

no i have not. I mightaswell now that it has been brought up.

Where is Goblin Slayer when you need him

Dont know but i would just love to see him blast this asshole in half with his little scroll trick.. well our dear black ogre would propably find mithril made waist down prosthesis with nerve connections and twice larger dong buried right under him.. Why? because why the fuck not.. "he is a monster" or so this author would rationalize it.

Anyway, despite the glaring storytelling and character development issues, it would be hilarious if what we're reading is the account of a demon lord's rise to power in diary form, read aloud by the hero after he killed said demon lord.

FFS, this is a fantasy setting. You could also protest about inter-species rape.

Well, he does not rape his own species. That's something to his credit...

No? Ok, it's not.

Well, I think almost everyone here thinks this has gotten lame after a while.

What's odd is that he protected the first group of human girls from rape by his fellow goblins, didn't rape them himself, nor did he drug them. They eventually fell for him, all because he made a conscious effort to be nice and offer them a good life.

Then, when the elves entered the picture, all this went flying out the window and he started to treat everyone (except the original women and his friends) like cattle.

If any of he characters that join later were to die, I don't think he would lose sleep over it.

I don't know why, but it seems the author changed course after a few chapters and gave up pretending the MC was going to play fair and bring civilization in goblin-land. The change is really noticeable. And then this novel went downhill.

and the hero will end up saying,"So what I killed was really an uber upgraded goblin?!!"

Nothing the main character does is interesting or fun.

everyone just SHOUTING RAPE! have never picked up a history book. It is well known when you fight an enemy who is out to kill you, you don't simply turn around and make them apologize. You march into town and pillage and rape their village. Come on guys you can do better than that. While he is a villain, I haven't seen him raid a town who had nothing to do with the conflict. He isn't attacking random people. The world is a complicated place even in manga.

He attacked the orcs and the kobolds who had done absolutely nothing to him. He also drugged and raped the human girls the warriors brought back, which too, had not done them any harm whatsoever.
