One of the better things the random button has brought me to. Wish there was more translated.

I feel like this could've been a lot better. It seems to be way too all over the place with all the characters, and all the plots going in every direction. I like the idea of a name being passed down from person to person, I honestly really do.

But intead of multiple people in the same time with the same name, they could've instead done it in arcs where the next Ryuuma is connected to the current Ryuuma in some way(gonna throw out Raidou Kuzonoha because why not, while Jin could've remained a constant enemy that's in the background that we know exist, but the Ryuumas might have not known existed as over time the reason why that name in particular is passed down might've been eroded from the original.

But hey, that's me. I have no idea what I'm talking about since I don't write any of this stuff and only read it.

I think this is one of those series where you have to read it twice or even thrice to get the full effect and understand the plot. The author has started the story in several different eras and we're supposed to discern the truth as it progresses.

Spoiler

Just speculation, but I gotta say this was a great read.

Spoiler

Anyway this is just rampant, stream of consciousness speculation after I finished my first read through. Feel free to scrutinize this. I'll probably reread to check out how this holds up at some point.

It was really choppy and hard to follow due to repetitiveness first few chapters. Now around chapter 10, it starts to catch up and kick in, reaching the arc climax. Going to follow now.

The current world arc last till around ch 30. Much like the inhabitants of that world we only know it is a bad place with lots of albinos.

Then the past arc that explains what the world tree is and how it became a bad place by ch35 (most recent chapter as of oct 2014). Once that is over it will be back to the current world.

They talk like they are revealing to us what that world tree is about... but they didn't...

It probably is an albino factory, no? or at least the place where those mutants that follow jin come from

I think he means the original Ryuuma line (of fake Ryuumas) where one Ryuuma passes the will to only one new Ryuuma.

Spoiler

Both are real. It's already explained by the Ryuumas themselves and the recollection by King Mayu. Originally there were ten imperial brigades, each equipped with a type of relic weapon (of which the 1st's gunblade, the 7th's sword, the mechanical arm, and the 2nd's wires are known) and as they were sacrificed during the initial evacuation, the survivors became the first Ryuumas to start the lineage of Ryuumas going on to the present day. This may be why there is an intact sword and a broken one and two sets of wires present. The mechanical arm lineage seems to have died out with beggar Ryuuma and Mayu's own 1st brigade's gunblade seems to be missing still.

THat's the thing. There is no "Real" Ryuuma anymore. He died when the enemy first appeared. It's all about the "Will of Fire" so to speak.

Okay, so we have a fake Ryuuma, a fake Ryuuma, and a fake Jin.. and maybe a real Ryuuma...

I don't understand what happened in chapter 7 or where it takes place in all of this. Can someone try to explain please?

Spoiler

According to "King Mayu", Jin, Ryuuma and him were in the same faction, until Jin's group betrayed them. That is, if those Jin and Ryuuma were the original.

An endless cycle.

Spoiler

It's common practice to spoiler tag images not so much because they might be an actual spoiler, but more because they take up a lot of space.

Also, I saw someone mention the blonde Ryuuma from the end of Chapter 1 earlier. And no, he does not show up again. At least, not in 17 chapters I have raws for. His only role was to help set up the premise.

I really want to see that story continued.

I admit it is careless of me to forget spoiler wrapping the image. I am sorry about that

But to be honest with you, that one image, who could even realize it is from this manga just by looking at it, and what part of the story could it spoil? (well yeah, the string gauntlet just might...)

That said, as I said even before, sorry about that and spoiler wrapped it. Except I cannot edit your post and spoiler wrap it for you :/

the spoiler tag exists for a reason (referring to the picture).

So there was this vice-captain guy, who raised a country. At the very least, from his army, a guy picked up the sword and became cursed-tech-sword wielding Ryuuma and a guy who fights with strings also became a Ryuuma? And it seems that sword-wielding Ryuuma does not know of the string guy (from c8)?

And the boy who treated sword-wielding Ryuuma is probably the same Ryuuma in c3? Or at least his direct successor? Probably successor since c3 Ryuuma doesn't seem to be good at playing with knives :o but then face bandages...

I wonder when c1 Ryuumas and Ryuuma's mother's stories happen then.

actually what i understand so far was the bladecurse ryuuma was the soldier who brought the corpse of the string ryuuma diciple haha correct me if i am wrong

Okay... It's starting to get too confusing.

Spoiler

The sword comes from 7th bridgage, that means there might be more than one Ryuuma came from there. But the stringmaster Ryuuma is the only one so far so he has a defined face, while sword Ryuuma can be hundred of different peoples. What this implies is that, all of the chapters can happen at the same time period and its still makes perfect sense. And somewhere along the line, for various reason, the inheritted Ryuuma might ditch the sword and goes for something he more efficient/comfortable with. The broken sword of fem!Ryuuma might not even the one belongs to c1!Ryuuma or BB!Ryuuma. Aside from King Mayu's chapter has definite time, all other chapters is just something happened in the flow of history but has no certain time. So far, only BB Ryuuma and stringmaster Ryuuma are recurrent characters so we can only make guess around them. Buf if i has to guess, the timeline of this manga might actually not that long as we thoughts, a hundred years at most, give or take.

things are going shitty as planned

Wait..

So.. long ago in the past the sky pillar was already destroyed,

And now it stands still, does that mean there's more than one sky pillars? Or did they rebuild it?

And Jin was Ryuuma's friend? But then why was his daughter so hated by citizen?
