You wanna know what grinds my gears? This sloppy plotline.

wait wutttt... I must have missed something, what did that last nobleman do?

I'd guess he may stand behind these future revolt plans.

Or he will get an alternative choice in the next chapter.

Or they just had to sacrifice somebody so that masses are happy.

Or he laid hand on his waifu in previous laifu.

The eff?!?!? That last declaration was some serious Xianxia/Ancient Chinese punishment shit. Was he a conspirator/traitor or something? Seems excessive to to extend the punishment to his relatives tho.

Anicent Chinese punishment is usually Three Degree of Kinship or Nine Degree of Kinship, I never heard there is Five Degree of Kinship. In Vietnamese history, The Le Chi Vien murder which is an emperor murder, the punishment for Nguyen Trai is Execution of Three Degree of Kinship, which include his own family's houses (clan), houses of his parents, houses of his wife (include concubines's houses and house of wives's mothers, even if they already died before the crime), houses of his children (include children's spouse but not spouse's houses, but will be included in Nine Degree of kinship), from the elders to orphans, even the slaves of houses are not excepted, the resuilt of execution of many thousands people who are closed and distance relatives with him.

This kind of punishment or massarce is left no survivor for the seed of rebellion from the criminal's clan.

i was  gonna complain about that insanely annoying Japanese trope of mc being a fucking pussy when it comes to enemies or punishment(you know exacly what iam talking about if u read enough mangas) but that last 2 panels might change my opinion but who knows if he wont get a cheap last minute save for some reason

ever heard the words spelled "IF" ?... i think thats what will be on the next chapter's early pages (probably)...

his entire family executed. He must have done something really bad.

This series has its moments. Lect trying to crawl out the window was definitely one of them. It's trying so hard and I want to respect but the politics just bore me. And not in the typical way of I just don't like politics. They are genuinely boring. Eugh.

I can safely say, I have no idea wtf is happening anymore. I just can't seem to follow it at all and it doesn't seem that complicated really.

I really like this mangaka style, and how the character take a variety of positions/stances without looking weird.

There's usually such a perfection, that the errors stand out a lot...

It's not the first time the drew Lilicia's head too big.

the moment when you can tell when the artist got drunk

And here we see why the series has no dramatic tension whatsoever. Lectival has the full support of the Church, absolute executive power, and control over the military. He can punish and praise anyone he wishes without repercussion, and he has the insight of generations of monarchs along with any knowledge of history anyone from the modern era has. Also I have to ask again how the fuck the aristocracy works in a society with Dragon nobles, thousand year old elves, and a secular empire knocking on the walls with plans to wipe out all traces of the kingdom which probably includes the nobility. Really making the human nobles out to be shortsighted idiots who only shoot themselves in the foot.

She poisoned herself, remember?

Doesn't change the fact the emotions that she went through. Poisoning herself doesn't make her lose her sense of reasoning nor emotions.

Her last words to Lectival was "I'll leave the rest to you... don't assail me..." implies that she already know the poision will be taken care of by him. Since he knows about the entire situation, he probably already knew about the antidote that she left. But lol. "Don't assail me...". More like she's going join the harem soon so she wants to be the onee-sama that assails him instead?

Oh, about why she slapped him, it was most likely due to frustrations. It's something serious that she should have discussed with him first. Basically she's at fault and this event could have caused her to be in quite a lot of trouble. Her lingering attachment to Callias is the reason why she tried to solve the whole problem by herself. Callias is now a lost cause and ends up raping her. Lectival saves her knowing full well the extent of the situation and how any small mistake she may have done could cause the fall of the kingdom or taint the kingdom's reputation as well as the temple's reputations which include her own sister that is also Lectival's future wife.
Yet he saved her, did not say anything at all, and even wanted to her to continue to help him. Therefore she felt frustration from helplessness of the situation she was in, the helplessness she felt when her situation with Callias, her formal love, went terrible in which she was also raped, and now she was helped yet was not punished at all which made her feel really guilty because this situation was all caused by her on top of all her other feelings she felt up to when she was raped. Therefore Lectival saving her was both a blessing and a curse. Which was also why she broke down right after she slapped him when she finally expresses all her anger, sadness, frustration, and hopelessness.

Somebody explain this chapter to me? I honestly can't follow. So you rescue temple priest then cover up for her mistakes, threaten her with her sister's life, and for some reason this helps with preventing a revolt?

I can't follow it either and it's making me lose interest in this series very quickly.

What a religion when your high-priests are total sluts. Don't even play the rape card since the drugs hadn't kicked in and she was totally feeling guilty about fucking him.

It was poison that she took. Not some drugs to make her lose her sense of reasoning. In addition, feeling pleasure during rape is normal since that's a physiology thing but rape is still rape so I don't get the whole "rape card" you're talking about. Also she's feeling guilty because her lingering attachment to him is making her enjoying it more than she should be even if she knows that he's now a complete loss and even poisoned herself in the event the whole thing went south.

Anyways, either way, this is a big thing and she totally should have discussed it with Lectival instead of trying to solve it herself. On the other hand, it involves her former lover so I guess she was trying to solve it without having that guy killed due to lingering emotional attachment. Too bad it backfired on her.

Going back to the previous chapter why isn't Lilicia allowed to go to the royal castle? Isn't she the MC's future wife.

Because the church/religion gained almost the same power as the leaders of a country. If the church falls, the country falls. But if the country falls, that doesnt necessarily mean the church/religion falls. Best example would be the USA. Originally, they created a seperation of church and state. But now that they used religion in politics, they cant take it out any longer. If religion falls, its gonna take down politics/country with it. But if politics/country falls, religion would be fine without a scratch. If you wanna save your country who has a strong church/religion from crumbling because of said church/religion, make the church look white even if its black.

I don't think the US is the best example considering how unpopular every candidate in the primaries was with religious folk. Consider the fact that Henry VIII went as far as creating the Anglican church just to make his divorce ordained by God. I would argue that the church is stronger than any state or monarchy in a religious society because outside of the modern era, religious institutions have outlived their founding nations and banded many together against common enemies.

There's one flaw though. Lectival isn't simply a monarch, he's a reincarnation/gestalt of all the previous kings. He's more divine than any bishop or cardinal. He's closer to older concepts of divine kings like the Pharaohs, Japanese & Chinese Emperors, and the idea that many ancient Grecian & Roman cities were actually founded by heroes descended from gods. It wouldn't be difficult to place himself as head of church & state.

Somebody explain this chapter to me? I honestly can't follow. So you rescue temple priest then cover up for her mistakes, threaten her with her sister's life, and for some reason this helps with preventing a revolt?

Religious ally nation from faraway land is planning a big time "controlled" coup and plan to declare another religious war at capital,
The priest sis think she's smart enough to stop this all by herself
by making her own decisions and plan to persuade her former partner, the partner is the leader that want to initiate coup was her former lover that has fallen so low and double crossed her by raping her on the spot and decided that he will control the coup personally

Being a good smart azz master planner, she even plan her own death if something went wrong that prevent her coming home in time for antidote, lectival noticed this and decide to protect her own sister in law's and her temple's honor by making the whole operation to nulify coup via midnight military training

Lectival explain why he need her and her temple alive after the whole shenanigan and etc

Basically its about a bitch with too much power and influence think of a master plan, to be a big time under hero, got screw up mid way and almost ruin the country

Somebody explain this chapter to me? I honestly can't follow. So you rescue temple priest then cover up for her mistakes, threaten her with her sister's life, and for some reason this helps with preventing a revolt?

What boring nosense this manga has become.
