I don't know if it is just me, but i really don't like Tsuchimikado Arima.

In the series he gives off a very nasty feel, especially in the latest chapter 30.

Maybe he is the last boss of the series. Well I'll really love that if that happens

Everything is just my own opinion.

I dont think he is "the last boss", but he is someone that the end justifies the means, the weight of his responsabilitys and his own convction make him in a person you wouldnt want to be on the wrong side, your opinion of him completely understandable.

I think Splitting them up was a good idea basically because of the fact the mangaka has really mishandled Benio the last quarter of this Manga. Haven't we all gotten that Naruto bleach fatigue of the solo male character Shouldering the wait of Mangas story arc. Benio shouldn't be this maiden character that has her one try then gets overwhelmed and romero has to bail her out. I would have really appreciated a more balanced power dynamic that showed them as equals in both relationship and power. You don't have to make her overpowering just make her cunning. I just am not a fan of the maiden to be saved. Thats why having her own manga might force her to grow and become her own fully developed and powerful character that we all want her to be!

Well, benio's arc is actually more dark and serious than rokuro's. So making a spin off allows sukeno-sensei to bring in those darker themes without seeming out of place with rokuro's stupid fluff. I do think that having both together would show the juxtaposition of their situations but I guess sukeno-sensei just missed the opportunity to go back to BENIO and wound up doing a spin off. Like adventures of Sinbad and magi, I suppose. Tbh, I'm glad BENIO my daughter has her own thing where I don't have to deal with rokuro.

I just wrote up a reply listing all the storytelling reasons splitting up the two is a bad idea, and it was all quite impressive and knowledgeable, but then I accidentally closed my browser, and I don't have the energy to do it again, so I'll jump right to the closing statements:

I understand an author wanting to create a new sandbox to play around with a character in. 95% of the fun of writing is creating new characters or situations to throw old characters into, and you can't ever really shut off the instinct to adjust and readjust those characters and situation to whatever creative mood you're in at the time. That is why we (they, I should be so lucky to) have an editor, to stop us from doing stupid, story wrecking, things. When you have an already published story so concretely built on having two main characters that "Twin" is literally in the (translated) title, you can't decide, four years in, to separate them. If you want to explore new themes, make a new character(s) with a story to match. This ship has sailed, you(the author) launched it with the promise of a destination and you change course at the risk of all your passengers heading for the lifeboats.

Hah! The MC just went full Dragon Ball! (You know, when Goku headbutts Piccolo at the end of the original Dragon Ball? Anyone else notice that? Or is this too obscure?) Sigh. I'm getting old...

Nice one, people usually forget about that one, but 1st Dragon Ball was my favorite part of the series, the dragon balls actually had a purpose other than just being a phoenix down.

They probably don't want to have to cut between two concurrent stories all the time in one chapter. It makes sense. This way each story gets its own undivided attention.

Except for the fact that the relationship between Rokuro and Benio was the most interesting aspect of the story, and left the potential open for a lot of cool and relatively unexplored territory within the genre. Now, I might as well be reading something like My Hero Academy, which does the standalone main character thing way better, while having a stronger, more interesting, supporting cast.

Writing one character's chapter one month, and another next month isn't difficult (less difficult certainly than putting out two chapters), and with some care, doesn't mess with the pacing. In fact, switching between characters can HELP the pacing, especially if, say, one of them gets dragged into the eye-rollingly cliche tournament arc. There's no technical reason I can think of (as an author myself) to make a spin-off, unless the author felt he needed to take Benio's story in a new direction, which is why we have editors to disabuse authors of their dumber notions in order to keep stories concise. In short, if this was the Sukeno-sensei's idea, he needs a better editor, and if it was the editor's idea... Sukeno-sensei needs a better editor.

This was a dumb move and if it doesn't kill the manga outright, it certainly is killing my interest in it (although I'm gonna stick it out a little while longer out of a combination of time invested and masochism).

(@_@)

So hes gonna join the Rokuro house now right? Right?

Seriously? I wonder why they make a spinoff instead of making another arc for Benio in the same manga? Damn... I wish those will be translated as well. What is the spin off name anyway

It's being translated by Jaimini's box, I think only redrawing and QC are left?

I've seen only portuguese-br translation so far unfortunatelly.

yes, chapter was interesting, in the spin off we saw Chinu (the first basara) and Kaguya (the sixth basara), still i don'tlike this separation, no good for the main manga.

The first chapter was released month ago.

She's been getting huge offscreen

They'll eventually show how she got huge

Huge like Mayura Otomi? If you know what I mean ;)

"If I hit you with my space-erasing beam capable of removing mountains you'll be send to the hospital" Lol. Never change, shounen, never change.

Why is this called Twin Stars Exorcists when you only have one of them on screen and forgotten the other one?

She's been getting huge offscreen

They'll eventually show how she got huge

Benio is coming back!
