I've just begun reading this and finished all available chapters in two days. I don't think the story is progressing slowly, it matches both MCs characteristics quite well. I know a few couples IRL who progressed even slower than them. All in all, this is refreshing, with the focus on interactions and self development, and almost no unnecessary fan service or ecchi moments. I wish I had something like this to read thirty years ago, it would've been a great help in understanding other teenagers around me then.

It's a nice change from other mangas where the couples are formed in 10~20 chapters, followed by 8+ volumes of silly misunderstandings, artificial problems and random ex-lovers/rivals that show up to stir trouble just to leave a few chapters later, never to be seen or heard from again.

Edit: Derp, just noticed how long it turns out to be so I'm putting it in spoiler.
Spoiler

Lol the side characters are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more better than the mc :D

Slow progression is one thing but from how I see it, the author's just trying to pad the story until it eventually got axed before he finally gave the MCs the happy end they (kind of) deserve. There's already 8 volumes and 64 chapters which, really, is just 30+ chapters or less worth of (artistic) content if compared with other authors. I can't shake off the feeling that the author is doing all this to comfortably meet his deadline and compile more volumes for sales profit.

I think the progression is fine the way it is. Especially here since it's well done. We get to see progress in a slice-of-life fashion. Plus we get to see how the side couples evolved.

I do wonder does slow progression refers to the number of chapters or the amount of (virtual) time the MCs spend together? It's great that every chapter has 20+ pages but in reality it's mostly unnecessarily large panels of character smiling/grinning. Rather than saving those large panels for special occasions where the MCs made progress in their relationship, the author opt to spam it every chapter for the silliest reason (e.g. receiving a text for Ch 64). Then there's the blatant usage of screentones in practically most of the panels to justify the lack of background. At times, it feels like 2 or even 3 pages can be condensed into one if not for those large panels and plenty of idle talk.

Well-argued opinion.  I would counter with something else though.  In terms of pacing, in terms of dialogue, in terms of plot, in terms of character development, the relationships within this series progress methodically.  Is there any reason why the form shouldn't follow this as well?  The artistic form here and specifically the use of so much open space in so many panels really does reinforce the measured, methodical attributes of this title.  Give it a reread to help appreciate the cultivation and the planning involved in every single chapter.

@Demo:  Let's talk at length sometime about magazine demographics/marketed demographics and narrative conventions.  There are conventions within this title that really do echo so many of the shoujo/josei titles you know I'm so fond of.  :)

From the community's point of view, it's quite good. Slow progression as this is a romcom, slice-of-life, but nothing too egregious. Rather heavy on fluff and vanilla, although it's to be expected.

*looks at cover* Where did she get a Yuuto amiibo?

This isn't shoujo, though. It's in a seinen magazine.

thanks for the correction. My mistake

Gotta give it to kazuki. I dont know many other shoujo romance mangas with someone as smooth as him

Kazuki will always be the man

Sweet chapter as always! Didn't expect that charming Tina on the cover though.

Is this a good series? Would someone tell me before i read it because i don't wanna regret it later. I just saw the comments and now i'm having a second thought so please tell me if this is a good read. Thanks!

Read it for the side characters alone. The main romance and I call it romance very very loosely is still in preschool phase and the MC is an idiot.

The final choice to read this is up to you. Read the beginning yourself and determine whether or not you think it'll be something you'll regret not reading. Don't let the opinions of others dictate your actions.

Cheers.

MC is a wuss and dense, considering the contrast with his best friend, which is very smooth and cool.

Well what do you mean by good series? Depends on your taste. The romance is very slow but kinda cute i guess. I don't mind reading it, it's not bad. I think you should read it you got nothing to lose.

Wow, it's like watching a cathedral move.

Sorry if I appeared rude but I wasn't implying it was your group's fault, that was just sarcasm to that user I had quoted. There were many readers who don't bother to read the tag genres or simply ignore the mature contents warning highlighted in pink anyway. There are instance where scanlator groups were insulted by apparently young or ill-informed users in this community which is really an ugly sight.

I do understand that people are free to choose what to read regardless of genders, however Seinen and Josei often depict explicit sex scenes while Shounen and Shoujo doesn't cross this line. Although some Shounen manga is nearly "borderline hentai" but ultimately there is no real sexual acts being carried out, only suggestive hints. I also feel the need to state that the writing style for younger to older audiences is vastly different, especially the pace of the stories. Sure, you can chose to read Seinen or Josei even if you weren't of legal age but starting to curse or insult the authors or groups for whatever reason is very immature. Sorry for preaching and no offense.

No kind of slight taken whatsoever.  I just wanted to make abundantly clear the rationale behind some of the decisions made.  As you appear to know full well, scanlation is a fine balance of time and effort.  This isn't clear to some readers.

Your last point on understanding authorial intent and demographics is a good one and one that I would echo.  The only point I make in regards to your whole post is in regards to sexual conent.  First, "often" contain sex scenes should rather be changed to "can."  "Explicit" is a rarity among most mainstream seinen and josei magazines.  And the line of demarcation between "josei" and "shojo" is one easily traversed, as is that between seinen and shounen.  The very popular Say I Love You is found in a josei magazine, the formerly very popular Kare First Love in a shojo one.  Both contain sex scenes of similar sexual content.  Which contains more of them and more often?  Kare First Love.  But I think we're arguing in a circle here and largely if not entirely agree with each other.  :)

I welcome criticism of my work as a translator especially (since that helps me out in a way, too!) and look forward to your insights and comments.

But the thrust of my note is to remark that although we opted not to provide a translation of the "intro text," this is more because the investment of time required to provide SUMMARY and TEASER text isn't worth the output.  Please trust that any text that would contribute to even the most minute understanding of the original text has been rendered as best as within our power.

This is a Seinen manga, meaning this is not meant for kids to read and the slow pace(story development) is due to this being Slice of Life. I remember somewhere within the manga the author did state that this is a pure love comedy, maybe the scanlator group should start translating the texts on the opening page of each chapter?

And have you been skipping chapters or forgetting the fact that Yuuto himself is an airhead, it was only recently that he began to act more assertive. You unknowingly admitted that he is a remote controlled dog, although I view him more as a puppy. There were several time that I felt like whacking him in the head for the silly things he had said. :P

P.S: If you want fast progression(romance), kindly switch to Shoujo which is meant for young girls, don't go insulting the author. No offense.

Hi Mimamotte,

Translator here.  Love any feedback you or others would care to provide.  Your point on seinen vs. shounen vs. shoujo vs. josei is well received.  There are plenty of girls who read Naurto and Hunter x Hunter, plenty of guys who love Atasuki no Yona or Fushigi Yuugi, plenty of men who still read items published in shounen magazines, and plenty of girls who reach for the josei genre.  Whatever.  You're 100% right that narrative transcends magazine demographic considerations.

I am happy to answer any serious questions re: translation, genre, or etc. via PM.

My best....

For the sake of kashiwagi-san, I'm not gonna ask a lot of her but can she at least give yuuto a fucking hug.

Actually, grabbing his shirt so tightly is a big step up for her.  That's practically admitting she's relying on him and sees him in a similar way to the how the other two feel about eachother.
