There's something about the characters in this manga that reminds me of Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2) and Ken Akamatsu's older characters (Negima, Love Hina). Those characters have that charm that makes you grow attached to them. Nothing like the average soulless ecchi/harems that are currently riddling the market.

...

it seems several character is some kind reflection shadow from other character manga ...

that 2 sibling fight remind me with Naruto, and in the anime, BGM also remind me from Naruto BGM too ...

that chain and all modified / weaved weapon, it's kinda remind me with certain vampire story manga ...

Oh, I freaking love this one! 'Tis one of those gems in the vast seas of ecchi mangas. It appeals to me more than Prison School - visually speaking.

'Tis why I can't 'thoroughly' enjoy ecchi animes. Ecchi = lots/mostly breast-filled fanservice... and I'm an ass man, so even ecchi-heavy titles do little for me, except for that one female character with the overly impressive rack(like Kokuyou) that makes even me forget about asses for just a moment(big plus if they're rocking both). I'll get plently more ecchi out of hentai.

Then there's the censors... they're like, much worse with anime - light beams, camera angles, tiny obstructive pics, to nothing there at all, and even BANDAIDS(recent: Levia from Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai)!

Manga and hentai, hentai manga, etc., aren't as bad - heck, some artists get creative, like Yabuki Kentaro(recent: To Love-Ru Darkness)...

...

Well, Prison School have 2nd rank ...

so pretty much Ecchi rules the sales ...

Mujaki no Rakuen have 3rd rank ...

(and ... *cough* ... pedo element too ... *cough*)

Let me guess, that was

In this age where you can read and watch hentai side by side with anything, showing lots of boobs is nothing. It has to be specially charming boobs. And the manga has that, anime doesn't.

Not quite.

...

I hope Kazuya wreck that oldman upside down ...

seriously hate that bastard ...

...

kinda odd if the manga get Top rate sales while the anime get worst instead ...

I guess because the ecchi get really degraded in anime version ...

if only it's like TLR Darkness OVA where the ecchi might become heavier than manga ... *sigh* ...

Well, I said its kinda funny, but the manga got top sales during the airing. For example, in may he was in 4th in DMM ranking. After the airing or even at its end it wasn't in the rank anymore.

Aaaaand it seems some of us forgot that Kazuya CREATED the black obi, Asami(I get that she's an amasogi, but still)...

Spoiler

Kazuya had better give that dirty basterd what-for in their coming match.

Oh right.

Been a while since I've read those chapters.

Completely forgot the plot by now, tbh.

Ah shit.

Actually the sales of the BD flooped really hard, but the manga sold really well. Funny thing, it was ranked 3 in the most sold mangas and the 3 that less sold in BDs.

I think people brought the manga, read it and got mad with what the author done with Kihira and droped the anime.

Well, I'm working on assumptions in the same way you are, but I based mines on the sales. Also, the anime wasn't so badly done to sell that bad, losing in sales to even Fukumenkei noise, being in the bottom with Clockwork Planet and Renai Boukun. Normally a Otaku that loves something would buy not only the Manga, but the BDs as well, the anime adaptation of Tsugumomo wasn't that bad to make someone dont like it just because of the animation, it was even a good one compared to others out there.
The death of a major character like Kihira that is one of the faces of the manga will certanly affect the way the otakus will see it, to the point that a lot of people would hate it. A lot of Otakus like a series just because of one character.

Taking all that in account, I can assume that the fact that the author killed Kihira really affected the sales on the BDs of the anime. If a lot of people that came to know about Tsugumomo because of the anime liked it enough to read the manga, the probability of they hating it because of the plot twist is really high.

To finish what Im saying, just remeber this, Im not saying that the anime flooped JUST because of this, but it contributed to it.

I dunno. I'm pretty passionate about this series, but even I have to admit I wasn't really feeling it with the anime...

You think they'd boycott the anime just because of what happened to Kihira way later? I mean, there's a lot of petty fans out there, especially in Japan, but I feel that you're really off base with this, especially when she's an entire plot point now and there are a lot of other girls to tide someone over.

The reason why manga sales are high while BD sales are low is pretty damn obvious fam.

The art quality and the lewd.

The anime just can't compete with the mangaka's art, not only that but this is one of those series that would benefit from OVAs rather than a serialized tv anime and the control that comes with it, because while the show still kept a lot of the erotic aspects, the manga really pushes the bar with them, and again, the art in it is just on a whole other level.

Why buy the BDs for the most boring part of the series with a downgraded art quality when you can just buy the entire current run of the much superior manga?

At least, that's how I see it.

IDK, I liked the Obi techniques. Maybe he gets a new tsukigami from the same clothe?

But they in no way are treating it like that's the case. There's a way this story could be written to really make the full impact of her death and they're not doing any of it. So I sincerely doubt there's any intention for her not to come back.

I'm not saying I don't think manga in general should be more willing to actually let characters die. But I also don't think that sort of development in any way suits the tone/arc of this particular work.

Throwing away 100 chapters of character development to draw someone else naked does not really seem ideal.

Agreed.

And... whoa, crap. Looks like it woulda been better if she'd dropped the grace and just double-tapped him right then.

I was under the impression they HAD to take this win? If this is a loss, does that mean that the rest of the later matches are moot?

They were tied at 3 to 3. This wasn't the deciding match, just a win here would put them in higher chance of winning (need only win 1 out of last 2 matches), whereas a loss means no room for error (must win all 2 remaining matches).

This author knows how to write infuriating underhanded tactics and villain, being on the good side is akin to be tortured physically and mentally all the time D8
