That is an update the size of a small truck right there.

Also, this series feels a lot like an inverse Shirayuki. The male MCs even have the same name, lol.

This is pretty good. Shuka is actually trying to improve, and the typical problems to queenship are being handled decently. Villain seems to have a backstory too.

^And apparently that whole statement was a lie. considering he's the one deciding everything.

(Edit:to an extent i guess.)

hmmm..But I do see that they are taking advantage of her because of her timid, meek actions.

And zen?.......oh my god.

And about the death of her family:

Spoiler

Chapter 7 was very aggravating to read.

If something doesn't happen soon(her shaping up), I don't know how much longer i can keep up with this.

??  But the focus of the series is more on the girl's process to become a proper queen rather than on her reactions to her family's passing?

If he's thinking so much about what's best for the queen, how can he not see through this obvious grab for power at her expense? He's so caught up with his feelings and intentions that he's oblivious to these people explicitly stating that they're trying to strip the Queen of any real power and rule the kingdom themselves. "Protecting the queen" should probably include "not letting people wear her like a crown". For that matter, whatever they're planning, she's still the fucking queen, how the hell are they able to just corral and confine her around her own damn palace? They're treating this like a coup. They're not even trying to hide it.

The description kinda reminded me of Akatsuki no Yona so I thought i'd give it a shot.

It's only been two days since all but one members of the royal family passed away and we go straight to the hijinks of the novice queen? After plague and monstrous beast attacks, the people are all happy and smiling and optimistic?

The whole country must be living on drugs.

Yeeeaaa...This actually bothers me too. her family died a mere few days ago and her and everyone else is acting way too optimistic after their deaths....

I'm going with them being on drugs too.

or maybe they should have added a comedy tag...that could have helped.....mm..nope. still too messed up.

I'll keep reading and see where this goes i guess...

thanks for the update!

oh, this is quite good. being shoujo and all, i expected rin to be a rival in love over mr. dark and handsome, so i was practically overjoyed when they were competing in their work.

Given how and when Rin did all her blushing if she's going to be a Rival in Love to anyone its going to be a Rival To Mr Dark, not For him. :D

Still waiting for the tiger to turn into the silver haired hunk on the cover.

But! Shuka is very likable in my opinion. Even though she seems undependable she has guts. Can't wait for the next chapter!

This is actually developing pretty well.  I am optimistic, not even cautiously so anymore.  The MC is making a concerted effort to improve, and seems to be succeeding at that.

She's not quite at Yona levels, but she's made a lot of progress in just 4 chapters.

...rival is a moron... no seriously... she's the daughter of the former tyrant king... yet while trying not to be like them is acting EXACTLY like a tyrant would... *facepalm*. It's like yes... there will occasionally be attempts on a rulers life.. but, the frequency of said attempts tends to tell you if your being tyrannical or not. If it's happening so often that you think "this is commonplace" ...you've probably done screwed up somewhere along the line.

After this chapter, I began having doubts whether I really like this manga. I guess I'll keep reading for a few more chapters.

I actually like this, hope the queen character will develop into a strong one, no more crybaby queen :)

... or perhaps I've been reading A Song of Ice and Fire books too much and starting to expect everything to go wrong at the first turn of events... :(

you might have george rr martin syndrome *pat pat* it always happens after reading the series

Hey after having been told by the king you trust that the daughter will make a perfectly fine queen. You accept it even if you don't understand. Besides she is of the same bloodline as the king who brought back the entire kingdom from ruin in only 15 years. They have a legit reason to stay optimistic.

As do reasons to have some doubts. The tragedies mentioned (the king's heirs are deeeaaaaad!) should have left impacts to the people. It's way too convenient to have the entire populace happily accept the situation (emphasis on "happily") just like that.

Perhaps we will see it on the next chapter, but I think this one is padded with too many gags which could have been used to set more of things to come. If it were up to me, the moment she tames that tiger would be the breaking point where she begin to gain people's trusts (not just her royal guard) and grow some confidence.

Currently, this manga feels like a kid's fairy tale, where everything goes egregiously well despite the setting's perils and the heroine's flaws.

It's hard to judge with only one chapter but as mentioned below, your entire family just dropped dead and your only concern is you becoming queen? O_O

It's simple, she's um dissembling to herself because she wouldn't be able to cope otherwise. Basically focusing on the smaller of the worries else her mind would snap under the stress.

Words of Power

I'm glad that I read this, I can't wait for more. *~*

This could actually turn into something great =D Just hope it doesn't simply end up with zen protecting her everytime with the exception of one time during the ending or something like that....IF the author gets the character development down, this could end up being a great series.
