Description: Sickly Kishida Jun has the ability to see ghosts, but in his opinion, it's a stupid power and nothing good ever comes of it. Considering the number of grisly situations he seems to find himself in after the ghost of his childhood friend Hayakawa Ryoko starts following him around, he may have a point.

The extra chapter was a nice touch, showed a bit on the heroine's personality

This was the girl who I call bullshit on, for her accusing him as the reason teh ghost girl cant pass on. Clearly if you re-read chapter 1 her accusation hold no ground. But as for this arc, her part wasnt so bad. I dont mind her sticking around, for shes somewhat cute and has good affinity to work with the ghost girl. Plus why do I get a subtle feeling hes secretly building a harem without him knowing it. Only problem is that with this type of story, it seems anyone can die at any time pretty easily <.<.

I am actually all for the ghost girl possessing people more from time to time, Depending whats happening.

Pretty sure Keanu is just a practitioner of Hamon. That or he's straight up just immortal.

fact: the matrix fights was not done with CGI. it's just keanu flexing and exercising his hamon

I really enjoy this series.

Thanks for the translations.

Spoiler

FATALITY.

.....so that's Jared Leto and Keanu Reeves's secret....

I just love the mix of B-movie horror and gore, callous chapter endings, and the subtle, low-key comedy.

I also may or may not have been drawn to this in the first place due to Hayakawa being a total qt in the classic Japanese ghost girl mold ("Yamato Nadeshiko of the Dead").

and the harem is growing up, nice job jun

It feels like this is escalating, both in bodycount and just general 'and everything got worse after our heroes went on their merry way'. Maybe it just feels like it because I haven't read the earlier chapters in a while.

i donnu man, as far as body count goes, the vampire chapter is pretty tame.
...unless you count the vampires as people ofc.
(inb4 i get snabbed by a vampire)

Stealth harem is not so stealth

I swear, at this rate, the only characters that are going to be left in this manga are the protagonist and his ghost waifu.

Plot Twist: This happened in America so nobody noticed the cops killing more people.

You know, glasses girl is growing on me, she may be an awful person that gets into a lot of trouble, but at least she's very determined to stay alive.

Gonna agree with this one it's kinda fresh to have one character with that's kinda jerk in the MC's circle, and she's quite competent too

You know, glasses girl is growing on me, she may be an awful person that gets into a lot of trouble, but at least she's very determined to stay alive.

and she learned how to shoot a gun well (without the drawback of the recoil) and headshot a monkey god, pretty good survival skills (I knew she was gonna have a gun hahahaa)

this is weird, but i can't stop to read it

Jesus, with the body count of each chapter how does this town have anybody left in it? Or how do they not notice that the mortality rate in the area is like 20 people a day?

You know, glasses girl is growing on me, she may be an awful person that gets into a lot of trouble, but at least she's very determined to stay alive.

This is fantastic. The structure is simple, the characters are simple, the art is fitting, but I can't help but to love it.

Found this by random and just read through the entirety of the available chapters. I really thought this was drawn and/or written by Takahashi Yousuke for a couple chapters. The way some characters are drawn (particularly the eyes and faces) as well as how the supernatural aspects are written reminded me of his work. Then I get to the authors page and find out it's someone completely different.

Japanese fiction always fascinates me because it's very rare to see a story about "exorcising" a spirit in the western sense. You either salt the earth or seal the entity away until it becomes someone else's problem.

U N Owen was him?
(sorry agatha, i'm refering ZUN's works this time...)
Haha, very reminiscent of The Ring, storywise and atmosphericwise. I really love and appreciate this series because it isn't just stock horror, there's dread buildup. Were it not for the fact that I was hiding under a blanket and comforted by soothing music I doubt that I'd be okay. The fact that one of the songs seemed to glitch out adds to the horror. Junji Ito look out, you might have a competitor.

Pretty good chapter as usual.

Anybody read the raw? Just a bit curious if it's gonna stay episodic until 8th volume...

It continues to be pretty episodic, though there are some stories that continue over a couple chapters. There are also some stories that tie back into previous ones. Mostly it's just stand-alone events linked by Kishida and other recurring characters.

i just realized that the manga title stands in contrast to the MC ability (he cant HEAR the dead). what does this mean?

they don't talk?
