Actually, I like the Forever/ForNever ending. It's not full closure, but really, ending it after the Sensui arc would have cut off the character development right at the good part. We wouldn't have been privy to a very, very different side of the YYH cast, one where everything is far too complicated for just killing bad guys.

The way I look at it, YYH grew up along with its readers. The third arc was its 'adulthood' - the group's power catching up to them and forcing them to use it not merely for destroying monsters, but for changing worlds. Yusuke had too much baggage to be left alone - rightful heir to a world that needed his power to balance it. He had no choice, really - left alone, the war in the Makai would have easily and readily spilled over to Earth, undoing EVERYTHING he did the previous entire series. He had to grow up, deal with all the politics, and the relationships and the bullshit. So did Hiei and Kurama, forced to acknowledge their demon sides and their responsibilities. The last arc was worth reading for the interaction between Hiei and Mokuro ALONE.

To be honest, I thought the last chapter was really, really powerful. The missing characters, Hiei and Genkai, are more prominent by their absence. Hell, there's no REASON for Hiei to go to the beach, it would have been so out of character. But that entire discussion of Genkai's last will and testament, and the reunion by the beachside - and especially the awkward talk Yusuke had with his girlfriend - was just amazing. That last shot, lingering on the photograph, made me tear up the first time I finished the manga. Personally, I thought the series ended on a perfect note - as an affirmation of their friendships, their beliefs, and their loves.

Togashi in the brink of emotional breakdown due to boredom and big interference from the publisher. Therefore he become less passionate to develop the story and become more frustrate to this manga and causing slight dissatisfaction in this manga ending. That is why he want special treatment for Hunter x Hunter to keep his mood and passion to develop and continue the manga.

The ending is something that I feel could have been done better in this manga. Overall it's a really great and classic manga, but dat ending. In fact, chapter 153 was a much better, fitting ending, I think at least.

I really love this manga but the end... oh my god i can understand it's difficult to do a proper one, but this is one of the worst ending i ever read, it leaves so many questions unanswered... it was mean to do something like that Togashi sensei...

Yu yu hakusho was actually what got me hooked on to anime and mangas. How long has it been...
