Description: In order to fulfil her mission of bringing peace to her homeland, the Uyghur Princess Amelia travels to Chang'an and marries Emperor Dezong of Tang's ninth prince, Li Qian. While she had been considered very capable in her homeland, the complex and foreign customs of the Tang court are something else entirely; and although she had not expected love in a political marriage, the sheer disinterest and arrogance of her husband is very hard to handle, no matter how capable and handsome he may be. Securing peace between the Uyghur Khaganate and the Tang Empire is not going to be easy, especially with the rebellion taking place in Tang.

The Prince was jealous for a bit;. OwO. I'm soooo happy for the new update. Thank uuuuu MCS.

I hate those scheming biatches in harems, they truly deserve a well-placed kick in the nut.

For this large update I am really grateful. Thank you to whom ever worked on this project.

How long is it going to take for us to finally get some romance in this manga?

well, you see romance isn't all the plot, but there is definitely the start of romance from chapter 90. Go read the raws if you wish.

LOVE THIS MANHUA!!!!!!! ^0^

I would agree with you, but the writer mentions real ethnicities, so it becomes very unfortunate. Replace "Uyghur" with "African-American" (and possibly "Chang'An" with "Washington") and re-read the description blurb; it does sound more than a little demeaning towards the princess and her people.

oh my dear god

Like fulminata said, the summary IS quite misleading. I gave it a try anyways, and I just want to say that I LOVE the female lead, she's quite wise and adorable. The story is good too and the art is great. A better summary for this manga would be,

"In order to sustain peace between her land and changan, The princess of Uighur travels their to marry a prince, however, does she know anything about Changan?.

Overall, it's a good manga so far, definitely has potential, but a lot is riding on the MC girl's character, if she becomes annoying then the story wouldn't be tolerable.

Edit; The new desc is much better

I didn't know that this was actually based on real history until I seearched it up. They just changed a few things. Its a good read so far.

Can't find it in Wikipedia. Can you share the link pls

Edit: Found it

Wow so much discussion on just one line! "Increase her IQ" It was fun reading all those comments but guys relax It's just a manhua XD

TBH I get where the "raise her IQ" thing come from. Typical bride training is knowing how to cook, play at least 1 musical instrument (know how to not stick her foot in her mouth). etc Ming Yue knows neither. Ive taken a great liking to this series. Some of it leaves me abit confused.. But its quite nice.

Speaking of which why is this tagged harem?

There is a harem in this story but it belongs to the king. Not Ming Yue or 9th Prince.

Reading up to chapter 19:

Dang, the summary is misleading. I thought it will be about a typical stupid shoujo MC given that it said "raising her IQ". It makes you think she lacks intelligence. I put this behind on my "to read" list and didn't read until now because I'm not int the mood of stupid female MCs. I only read now because I ran out of things to read and the art is to my taste. It turns out the MC isn't stupid at all (at least not as much as I expected). Only a bit willful in the sense she puts out shenanigans to enjoy her last bit of freedom. I like her quote that it's the peasants that are the saddest beings of all in the midst of war. She's still pretty ignorant in some areas but that's because she's a foreigner and didn't know much about their customs and traditions (like fireworks and the market place). I thought she's a typical female MC, especially when she enthusiastically greeted the people watching the procession (making her self seem foolish to me). But she's normal apparently (slightly above average heroine but not the kickass type of heroine so far).

Did chapter 50 get skipped or was there an error with numbering?

It did! It's on the scanlator site, though.

hmmm

crappy prince

lol

that...that...that expression on the prince!!!!
super cut!!!!~ <3

Did lines repeat like that in the raw too?

I really hope ch7 means that the Uighur Princess gained the favor of Tang Le so soon. But I also wonder why the king always asks her out of all her other siblings. And, like, does she really think 9th Prince goes to the Sikong house so much? Or does she mention them causally, or hold some sort of resentment towards the Sikong house? Aside from the length of the chapters, this us looking pretty good so far!

... They do realize 'IQ' does not test all types of intelligence, right? It's a theoretical measure of your potential in that one specific area, and it's about as accurate as a lie detector. Case and point, one of my friends was made fun of in middle school because her "IQ" was 96, but in high school, she aced all of her classes, including AP classes, and was in the top ten percent. Turned out she was amazing at memorization, and could quote back every word a teacher said after hearing it once. Of course, that isn't what's tested on 'IQ' tests.

Well you can be stupid but able to memorize a lot of things you know. though pretty sure that friend will ace an achievement test.

If you train to get better at IQ tests, you don't increase your IQ.

It's like the standardized tests in American schools. You don't teach the kids to think. You teach them to be better at these tests, because then the school will get federal money.

Actually, a lot of the Japanese school system is geared that way too. Kids in high school are trained to take the Center Test. That they'd go into something, like a vocational school, where they can learn something they like and have a job they like is seen as a failure.

And anyway, IQ tests are not something you pass several times. It has no meaning.

IQ has, basically, no meaning.  And people can take IQ tests whenever they want.  And there's MENSA, a whole organization of a peculiarly pointless sort of nerd dedicated to getting high scores on IQ tests and imagining that means they're intelligent.

There's an interesting discussion of the broad uselessness of IQ tests (and their susceptibility to being used for racist purposes) in the book "The Mismeasure of Man" by Stephen Jay Gould.  It also talks about early stuff, like Victorian scientists who compared races' assumed intelligence by measuring how much lead shot would fit in their skulls (and fudging the numbers), as well as more recent stuff, like that racist piece of crap "The Bell Curve".

It's not actually that hard to do.  An IQ test is a test, like any other.  They have certain patterns and styles of queston/problem, which one can practice and study and get better at.

Didn't see the description before I began reading, but saaaame~~ I have expectations for this princess because of the Uhygur tribe and the protagonist in Song of the Long March/Changge Xing/Chouka Kou. I'm a little worried about how this is starting out, tho. She doesn't seem as... capable.
