Fair enough.  Can we agree that, given how the Constitution constrains executive power, most of the good or bad things discussed on both sides are unlikely to happen?

I am not sure I can agree with that.  But time will tell you know?  As you can tell I am a right winger XD

Guess it was too much to hope.  I'm an old Social Democrat myself.  (Sanders is one the few American politicians who is close to me on the ideological spectrum.)  That said, my socialist impulses are tempered by decades of watching idealistic schemes get wrecked on the rocks of the American republic.

“Men and nations behave wisely when they have exhausted all other resources.” [Abba Eban, March 1967, referring to Israel's situation when speaking on a visit to Japan, as reported by the NY Times]*

The media painted trump to be bad when he is not.

https://conservativedailypost.com/fake-news-obama-nullified-this-law-in-2013-to-make-it-legal-for-cnn-to-lie/

Obama made it an actual law in 2012 which was re implemented in 2013 to make our current media (like nytimes, CNN, MSN, politico etc) to speak what the government wants us to hear rather than what the truth is.  This is why they constantly use the same narrative.  Polls are in favor of hillary!  Hillary won popular vote!  Both of which are ridiculous.  They also make everything about race as you can tell. lol.

Supporting hillary this election would have been disastrous.  We went from defcon 2 (about to be in nuclear war) to defcon 5 (safest level) when Trump won the president elect title.

Trump is bad. But so is Hillary. Voting turnout in 2016 was all-time low. People just didn't show up to vote, so it made it seemed like the racists/bigots turned out to vote. There was really no viable choice because people don't vote third party. I don't know why? Maybe Americans watch too much football and can only think of the world between two teams, between God and Satan, between good and evil. And it is standard divide and conqueror tactics.

Also, while Trump is certainly a racist/sexist, his European counterparts are 10x more racist. He's Mickey Mouse compared to Golden Dawn, or that Austrian guy who almost got elected.

I was cracking up over this.  (there are two different links here, one is about michigan the youtube is on wisconsin) This is appropriate to those who believe she won popular vote.  This fraud is all over the country.

Trump is only bad according to mainstream media.

the current norwegian government is full of racists.

many of those who elected them are starting to get disappointed because they voted for the non-racist policies that the party promised, things they were unable to do because there's a thing called budget. what a big surprise.

and most norwegians, it seems, those who never considered that sneaky party, are getting really angry with them because the party is so obviously racists. and they use their power to throw out not only immigrants, but even their children who were born and have grown up in norway. in some aspects, norway is far worse than america. like how children can be born and raised in our country without even getting proper citizenship.

that has nothing to do with trump, really. but his rhetoric aren't all that different from that of the leaders of our own racist party.

i don't like it. i'm unable to believe he isn't racist. or that he won't make it easier to harm the weakest in the american societies.

and that's because people who talk like him have proven themselves to be bad. you're supposed to learn from experience, right?

actually, trump winning the "election" is just another part of this same trend:
https://www.buzzfeed.com/emaoconnor/ohio-passes-law-that-bans-abortion-after-a-month-and-a-half?utm_term=.hcyW6dRGy#.blKEjRN9W

women are losing their rights. children are most likely also losing their rights. anyone lgbtq+ will lose their human rights as well. it's scary to read. some people just want to force their own ideology onto others.

Followed some of those sources. As usual, Trump is all over the place. It's easy to find him contradicting himself. Doesn't mean he didn't say the alarming thing, just that he's not consistent about saying it or the way he says it.

"There's a sucker born every minute."  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There's_a_sucker_born_every_minute)

Between the cabinet & staff picks and the news about the Russian op to help elect Trump, sounds like Goldman Sachs, Putin, Bannon and Trump played you all.

Edit:  Wanna' start a betting pool on who turns out to be the most highly placed Russian agent eventually outed in the Trump administration?

Update on the (nonexistent) betting pool:  So the first casualty of the Russia connection was retired general and National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

So for how high this is going to go eventually, seems like some choices are:

(1) The Candidate/President-elect/President was in on all the significant Russia contacts during the campaign and after. (In which case they probably have something on him more damning than one golden showers video.)

(2) Steve Bannon has been managing Russian collusion with the campaign since Paul Manafort was pushed out. Therefore Flynn's instructions came from Bannon.

(3) Flynn was a Russian plant/dupe and acting on his own, perhaps with vague encouragement from people higher up. That doesn't account for the Manafort and Page contacts with well-connected Russian oligarchs, or various tweets that are hard to explain without more knowing involvement by the POTUS or his handlers.

Weird when he does what a lot of people say was "the right thing" to respond to Assad using chemical weapons hidden from the Russian deal that staved off a military response to a previous atrocity, and the reason Trump did it was an impulsive response to something he saw on the TV machine.

Was going to say, "least competent president since James Buchanan", until I read up on Buchanan. Turns out the 15th president was a fairly able administrator, legislator and politician, just that his attempts at principled compromise on slavery made the Civil War more likely rather than staving it off. He managed to alienate a majority of his own party and thus contributed to the growth of the "National Republican" party and Lincoln's election. As a lame duck, his tepid response to secession made the war inevitable.

Buchanan spent most of the rest of his life trying to deflect blame for the American Civil War.
