Rokhshan, a noble from a prestigious count family, has cast aside his family's honor and the duty to bear an heir, completely consumed by his forbidden relationship with his slave, Kael. He believes himself to be mad. His slave, Kael, is driven by a desperate goal: to receive a declaration of love before the "Nest Wedding" at the culmination of the Black Dragon Festival. Time is running out, and Kael constantly coaxes and intoxicates Rokhshan, pushing him to the brink.
