Chiyu Hitsuji is two things: a high school freshman with a unique calming voice and a loner, because straight after the entrance ceremony she caught a cold, and by the time she came back, all social groups had been decided leaving her completly out.

She's resolved to become friends with her classmates! Starting with the one sitting next to her, who appears to be Amatsuka-kun, a scary-looking guy who, rumor has it, uses drugs.

And this seems to be true as Chiyu notices a bag full of pills fall out of Amatsuka's backpack one day! Then, he hands her a note instructing her to meet him the next day and not tell a soul. She is terrified but ready to negotiate for her life! But Amatsuka asked her to come... to read to him so he could sleep??
